• Suffers fractured big toe
Renfroe has been diagnosed with a broken left big toe, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Renfroe was unable to continue Monday after fouling a pair of pitches off his left foot, and the team later revealed that he had suffered a toe fracture. Kansas City has yet to establish a timeline for his return, but Renfroe will almost certainly require a trip to the injured list to rehab. Dairon Blanco appears to be the next man up in right field, though Nelson Velazquez and Adam Frazier are also candidates to see time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:50 pm

  • Hunter Renfroe suffers fractured toe versus Yankees
Hunter Renfroe was diagnosed with a fracture in his left big toe after fouling a ball off his foot and leaving Monday’s game.

Advice: Renfroe likely will land on the IL, though this may not be a long absence if it’s just a hairline fracture. Unfortunately, this comes just as Renfroe had started to get it together; he’d hit .326 with three homers in his last 15 games to raise his OPS from .478 to .638. The Royals could call up Drew Waters and give him a look in right field. Adam Frazier and Dairon Blanco could also see additional time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:47 pm

  • Exits early Monday
Renfroe left Monday's game against the Yankees due to an apparent lower body injury, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Renfroe fouled two pitches off his foot during an at-bat in the third inning, and he was removed from the matchup shortly after. The team should have another update on the outfielder's status after running more tests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:28 pm

  • Hunter Renfroe exits game after four innings
Hunter Renfroe, who fouled two pitches off his foot in the third, was lifted from Monday’s game after four innings.

Advice: It seems likely that those two facts are related. MJ Melendez replaced him in the contest against the Yankees. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:16 pm

  • Optioned to Triple-A
Smith was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Advice: Smith will head to Triple-A after struggling to find consistent opportunities with the major-league roster, batting .275 with two homers, seven RBI and five runs scored over 40 total at-bats since the beginning of May. The 27-year-old will now likely get extended run with Reno and he'll almost assuredly get another shot with the Diamondbacks down the road this season. In the meantime, Christian Walker will continue to handle the lion's share of work at first base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:42 pm

  • Sheds crutches
Tucker (lower leg) is no longer using crutches and remains hopeful for a Friday return, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: As Rome points out, Tucker has yet to be cleared to resume baseball activities, but the team is optimistic about his chances of being activated after missing the 10-day minimum. Houston should have a better idea of an exact return date for Tucker later in the week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:10 pm

  • Kyle Tucker (shin) off crutches, aiming for Friday
Kyle Tucker is off crutches as he deals with his right shin contusion, and the Astros believe there’s a chance he’ll return from the IL when eligible on Friday.

Advice: No rehab stint here. Tucker hasn’t done any running yet, but he should need only one good day on the field before rejoining Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:03 pm

  • Mariners INF Dylan Moore goes on paternity list
Mariners placed INF/OF Dylan Moore on the paternity list.

Advice: This seems rather last minute, given that Moore was listed in tonight’s lineup at second base. Ryan Bliss will take his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:16 pm

  • Placed on paternity list
Moore was placed on the paternity list ahead of Monday's matchup with the White Sox.

Advice: Moore was originally set to start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's series opener with the White Sox, but he will now be away from the team for up to three games. In his absence, Ryan Bliss could see some extra work at second base while Leonardo Rivas was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to replace Moore on the major-league roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:16 pm
