    • One more rehab appearance on tap
Green (shoulder) threw one inning for Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday and is expected to make another rehab appearance Wednesday, setting him up to potentially join the Blue Jays bullpen this weekend, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: The right-hander breezed through his scoreless frame on only nine pitches Sunday, striking out one batter. Green had a strong start to the season before suffering a shoulder strain in mid-April, recording a win, two saves and two holds in seven appearances with a 2.35 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 7:2 K:BB in 7.2 innings. He should immediately slot back into a high-leverage role upon activation, but Green's save chances will be limited with Jordan Romano back in the ninth inning after beginning the year on the IL. • Set to be recalled
Bae will be recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to the Pirates' game against the Giants on Tuesday, Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: There's no word yet on what the corresponding roster move will be. Bae has slashed .367/.479/.551 with four home runs and seven stolen bases over 27 games with Indianapolis this season. The 24-year-old has played center field, second base and left field with Indianapolis and should bounce around to multiple positions in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Three hits in nightcap
D'Arnaud went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the second game of Monday's doubleheader split with the Padres.

Advice: The veteran catcher sat out Sunday's game and Monday's matinee after taking a foul tip off his facemask Friday, but d'Arnaud cleared the concussion protocol and looked none the worse for wear in his return to the lineup. He's slashing .274/.350/.509 through 120 plate appearances this season with five homers and 17 RBI, but with Sean Murphy (oblique) expected to begin a rehab assignment this week, d'Arnaud's stint as Atlanta's No. 1 backstop could come to a close by the end of the month. • Sent back to minors
The Athletics optioned Ferguson to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday.

Advice: Ferguson was unscored upon in his first five appearances with the A's but then allowed four runs in his last outing on Sunday to earn a trip back to the minors. Oakland will announce a corresponding move prior to Tuesday's game versus the Rockies. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Tagged with loss in matinee
Jimenez (1-1) blew his first save of the season and took the loss in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Padres, coughing up four runs on three hits and two walks in one inning. He failed to strike out a batter.

Advice: The right-hander entered a 5-2 game in the top of the eighth inning and immediately issued a four-pitch walk to Ha-Seong Kim, setting the stage for a rare disastrous outing. Jimenez has only been charged with runs in three of his 18 appearances this season, posting a 3.50 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB over 18 innings with nine holds and a win as one of Atlanta's most reliable setup men. • Starting rehab assignment
Walls (hip) was assigned to the Florida Complex League Rays on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Advice: Walls had to be shut down for a while after developing inflammation in his surgically repaired right hip, but he's progressed to the point that he's ready to try things out in a game setting. The infielder will eventually move up to a higher affiliate but figures to be looking at a lengthy rehab assignment since he'll basically be going through spring training. Walls is probably looking at a utility infielder role with the Rays when he returns. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

    • Lane Thomas starting rehab assignment in Double-A
Lane Thomas (knee) is beginning a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Harrisburg.

Advice: Thomas has been on the injured list since near the end of April due to a sprained left MCL. The outfielder will likely need a week or so of rehab appearances, but then could return to the Washington lineup near the end of May. Thomas got off to a slow start prior to the injury, but was a solid fantasy option in 2023. Rotoworld Today, 5:43 am

    • In line for start Wednesday
Martinez is listed as the Reds' probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Padres in Cincinnati.

Advice: After Nick Lodolo (groin) went on the injured list, Martinez stepped into the vacant rotation spot last week in Los Angeles. He was deployed in bulk relief behind opener Brent Suter in last Thursday's 7-2 win, tossing five shutout innings while allowing one hit and no walks. Barring a late change of plans from manager David Bell, Martinez looks poised to operate as a traditional starter Wednesday, and he should have a higher innings ceiling as a result. • Steals, scores in win
Hamilton started at second base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 5-0 win over Tampa.

Advice: Hamilton made his fourth start in the last six games and has hit safely in five straight. Once a forgotten man on the roster -- he started just 12 times and had 50 plate appearances over 35 games after being called up April 6 -- Hamilton is 6-for-15 with four extra-base hits with three runs and three RBI during the hit streak. Vaughn Grissom (.135) has yet to establish himself as the everyday second baseman, so there is an opportunity for Hamilton to become fantasy relevant. Rotowire.com Today, 3:53 am
