    • Tosses five frames in no-decision
Scott allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over five innings in a no-decision against Arizona on Thursday.

Advice: Scott gave up a pair of third-inning runs but otherwise kept the Diamondbacks off the scoreboard. He got through only five frames, though, as he was pulled after throwing 91 pitches. The rookie right-hander continues to hold his own in the majors, as he's given up three or fewer earned runs in four of his five starts thus far. Collectively, he's posted a 3.90 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB through 27.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm
    • Belts sixth homer
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a triple in Thursday's 4-0 win against Seattle.

Advice: Bregman broke a scoreless tie with his two-run blast in the fourth inning and came around to score Houston's final run following a triple in the sixth. It was the third multi-hit effort for the third baseman across his past five games, and he's batting .350 (7-for-20) with a pair of homers and four RBI over that stretch. Bregman could finally be getting his bat going following a rough start to the season that has his slash line still at a meager .218/.280/.360. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:36 pm

    • Juan Soto triples home three against Angels
Juan Soto hit a three-run triple to help the Yankees to a win Thursday over the Angels.

Advice: Soto also drew a pair of walks. The three-run triple extended New York’s lead to 7-1, and gave the 25-year-old 49 RBI; tying him for second in the majors. Soto has been outstanding in his first year in pinstripes, and there’s loads of reasons to believe he’ll continue this good run over the next 100-plus games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:24 pm

    • Carlos Rodón allows three over six in win over Angels
Carlos Rodón gave up three runs over six innings to pick up a win Thursday over the Angels.

Advice: Rodón allowed just one run over the first six innings, but a pair of runs were charged to him in the seventh to turn an excellent start into a solid if unspectacular effort. The southpaw struck out five and walked one, and he’s still the owner of a 3.09 effort for his troubles in 2024. Rodón will get another chance to pitch Wednesday against the Twins. • Christian Scott allows pair over five frames
Christian Scott went five innings and allowed two runs with four strikeouts in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Scott gave up four hits while issuing one walk. The two runs came on a double that scored a pair off the bat of Ketel Marte, and outside of that it was a strong outing for the 24-year-old rookie. Scott has held his own in his rookie campaign with a 3.90 ERA and 21/5 K/BB over 27 2/3 innings. He gets another chance to impress next week with a scheduled tilt against the Nationals. • Alex Bregman wallops two-run homer to defeat M’s
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Thursday, powering the Astros to a 4-0 victory over the Mariners.

Advice: Bregman broke up a scoreless stalemate with a fourth-inning shot -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- to left field off Mariners ace Logan Gilbert. He also tripled and scored a run in the sixth inning to cap off a multi-hit performance. The 30-year-old impending free agent has gone deep twice in his last three games since being dropped to the fifth spot in Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:46 pm

    • Could be activated next week
Manager Kevin Cash said that Eflin (back) will throw a light bullpen session Thursday and a "ramped-up bullpen session" Sunday before the Rays decide his next steps, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Cash noted that the Rays will wait and see how Eflin feels following Sunday's session, but if his lower-back injury isn't providing any complications, he could be cleared to return from the 15-day injured list next week. When Eflin was placed on the IL on May 20, Cash estimated that the right-hander would need 2-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery, and Eflin currently looks to be tracking toward the short end of that timeline. • Sitting after three straight starts
Chourio is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Chourio had started each of the previous three games, but two of those starts came while the Cubs sent left-handers Justin Steele and Shota Imanaga to the mound. The rookie outfielder will hit the bench Thursday against right-hander Jameson Taillon and still looks to be stuck in a short-side platoon role in the corner outfield with Sal Frelick. • Jackson Chourio is on the bench on Thursday
Jackson Chourio is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Cubs.

Advice: It’s most likely just a typical rest day for Chourio. The rookie’s overall slash line is not impressive, but there are some signs of life. His seven steals and five home runs have been a help to fantasy managers and he cut his strikeout rate from 32 percent in April to just 19 percent in May. The hits are not coming and the groundball rate continues to rise, but it’s good to see the 20-year-old making more consistent contact. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:38 am
