The Padres reinstated Campusano (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Advice: A bruised thumb has kept Campusano on the IL since June 22, though he's managed to go 2-for-15 with four RBI in four rehab games at Single-A. He'll take a seat Friday while Kyle Higashioka catches for Randy Vasquez, but Campusano is slated to return behind the plate Sunday. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago
    • Padres activate Luis Campusano from 10-day IL
Padres activated C Luis Campusano from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The 25-year-old has been shelved since June 21 due to a left thumb contusion. While he was activated, Campusano is not in the Padres’ starting lineup on Friday night, it’s Kyle Higashioka behind the dish. Eguy Rosario was optioned to Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 4:51 pm
    • Bryan Woo (hamstring) to make rehab start Saturday
Bryan Woo (hamsting) will make a minor league rehab start at High-A Everett on Saturday.

Advice: The Mariners are hopeful that he’ll be able to throw around 45-50 pitches in the ballgame. Woo also participated in pitcher’s fielding practice without issue on Friday. He won’t be ready to rejoin the Mariners’ rotation next week, but it sounds like he could be ready to go immediately following the All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 3:49 pm

    • Returning from IL
Campusano (thumb) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Friday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Campusano has been on the injured list since June 22 due to a left thumb injury and has played four rehab games with Single-A Lake Elsinore, during which he went 2-for-15 with a homer and four RBI. The 25-year-old backstop said he will resume catching for the Padres on Sunday, per Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune, at which point he should take over for Kyle Higashioka as the Friars' primary backstop. Campusano has slashed .234/.282/.371 across 220 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 3:37 pm
    • Jared Jones dealing with Grade 2 lat strain
The Pirates announced Friday that Jared Jones is dealing with a Grade 2 lat strain and will be shut down from throwing for the next two weeks.

Advice: The Pirates are tying to find ways to manage the 22-year-old right-hander’s workload this season, so this doesn’t change his overall outlook for the season all that much. He’ll be re-evaluated after the two weeks to determine the schedule for ramping him back up. Fantasy managers may want to plan on being without Jones for the entire month of July. • Diagnosed with Grade 2 lat strain
Jones will be shut down for two weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 right lat strain, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Jones will be re-evaluated after those two weeks before the next steps of his rehab are determined. The rookie right-hander suffered the injury during his last start Wednesday against the Cardinals and was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday. Given the ramp-up that will be required after the shutdown period, it seems safe to rule Jones out for at least the remainder of July. Rotowire.com Today, 12:56 pm

    • Remaining in rotation
Scott is scheduled to start Monday's game in Pittsburgh.

Advice: After being called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday to make his first start for the Mets since May 30, Scott took a no-decision in a 7-5 loss to the Nationals, covering 5.2 innings while surrendering four earned runs on six hits and two walks. Despite the underwhelming results, Scott will get at least one more chance to make a case for a more permanent spot in the New York rotation. Through six outings with the Mets this season, Scott has gone 0-2 with a 4.32 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 33.1 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 11:10 am

    • Shaky in win
Eflin (5-5) picked up the win over the Royals on Thursday, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits and one walk over five innings while striking out three.

Advice: Eflin didn't have his best stuff Thursday, surrendering at least one run in four of the six innings in which he appeared. Despite those struggles, the veteran right-hander was able to secure his fifth win of the season and the fourth win in his last five decisions (spanning nine starts). Eflin has now gone at least five innings in five consecutive starts, though he's given up multiple runs in four of those outings, raising his ERA to 4.19 on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 4:03 am
    • Slugs 21st homer
Soto went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a loss to the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Soto brought New York to within four runs with his two-run swat to center field in the seventh inning, but that was the final tally for either team. The All-Star outfielder is up 21 homers on the campaign, putting him on pace to surpass the career-high 35 long balls he hit last season. Soto has added 63 RBI, 70 runs, four steals and a .300/.438/.568 slash line through 385 plate appearances in his first season as a Yankee. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:40 pm
