      Advice: Holmes capped off an excellent game by the Yankees pitching staff, as they yielded three hits and no runs as a whole. Individually, Holmes logged three strikeouts for the first time all year and his 1.2 innings of work marked his longest outing of the campaign.       Advice: Ashcraft's two unearned runs came in the fourth, when a two-out, two-RBI Jurickson Profar single plated Jackson Merrill -- who reached via error -- and Tyler Wade. Even with the mishap, Ashcraft left the game with the score knotted up at two, where it stood until Jake Cronenworth clubbed a grand slam in the seventh.       Emmanuel Clase struck out one batter in a scoreless tenth inning to earn the save against the Astros.

      Advice: After the Guardians took a one-run lead in the top of the tenth inning, Clase was called on to close it out in the bottom of the frame. He struck out the first batter, then got Mauricio Dubón to line into a double play with the help of an outstanding diving catch by Steven Kwan.       Clay Holmes slammed the door on the Orioles on Wednesday night, getting the final five outs to preserve a two-run advantage.

      Advice: Holmes was called upon with two men on and one out in the eighth inning, and he quelled that threat by striking out Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman in succession to end the inning. He returned for the ninth where he allowed a leadoff single to Ryan O’Hearn and nothing more.
