• Dominic Leone placed on IL with back injury
White Sox placed RHP Dominic Leone on the 15-day injured list with back tightness.

Advice: Leone has struggled in his 14 appearances with the White Sox as seen in a 6.75 ERA, and he’ll now miss at least two weeks with the back injury. Mike Clevinger is taking his roster spot after being called up from Triple-A Charlotte. Rotoworld 17 minutes ago

  • A’s likely to call up Osvaldo Bido on Weds
According to MLB.com’s Martín Gallegos, the Athletics will call up Osvaldo Bido to start one of the games in Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Bido has posted a 2.59 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in six games (five starts) for Las Vegas, striking out 39 and walking 13 in 31 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old former Pirate is not a recommended start against the Rangers but perhaps he can replace Joe Boyle in the rotation if he pitches well enough. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • Lands on IL with back injury
The White Sox placed Leone on the 15-day injured list Monday with lower-back tightness.

Advice: Leone tweaked his back during an appearance Saturday in St. Louis and now will be on the shelf for at least the next couple weeks. The veteran reliever holds a 6.75 ERA and 14:11 K:BB over 14.2 relief innings with the White Sox this season. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Vladimir Gutierrez heads to Triple-A
Red Sox sent RHP Vladimir Gutierrez outright to Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Gutierrez was designated for assignment on Wednesday, but he cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to Triple-A Worcester. He was acquired from the Brewers in April and made one appearance for the Marlins earlier in the season, allowing three runs on three hits in four innings. He figures to serve as organizational pitching depth. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
  • Shelved with shoulder impingement
The Cardinals placed Gallegos on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right shoulder impingement.

Advice: Gallegos' move to the IL comes one day after he failed to record an out while surrendering three earned runs on three hits en route to taking his first loss of the season in the Cardinals' series finale with the White Sox. Considering Gallegos allowed four runs while recording zero outs in his appearance before that March 30 in Detroit, his injury might have been bothering him for a while. He'll be eligible to come off the IL on May 21. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

  • Mets claim RHP Yohan Ramirez off waivers
Mets claimed RHP Yohan Ramirez off waivers from Orioles.

Advice: Quite a 29th birthday present for Ramirez. The right-hander had an 11.81 ERA in three outings with the Mets earlier in the season and then got designated for assignment in early April. He was claimed by the Orioles three days later and had a 6.00 ERA in five appearances in Baltimore. He was designated for assignment on Friday and reclaimed by the Mets today. • Back with Mets
The Mets claimed Ramirez off waivers from the Orioles on Monday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Mets booted Ramirez from their 40-man roster and then traded him to the Orioles last month, but he's now back in the organization to give them a fresh relief arm. Ramirez holds an 8.74 ERA over eight relief appearances this season between the Mets and Orioles. Rotowire.com Today, 11:42 am
  • Reds send LHP Moll to Triple-A
Reds optioned LHP Sam Moll to Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: On the surface, the move may seem surprising because Moll has not allowed a run in five innings while striking out four and walking none. However, Moll was one of three Reds relievers with minor league options remaining. The other two are Alexis Diaz and Francisco Cruz, who are clearly not being demoted. Any other reliever sent to the minors would have had to be designated for assignment. Frankie Montas is expected to be activated off the IL later in the week in a corresponding move. • Guardians option Peter Strzelecki to Triple-A
Guardians optioned RHP Peter Strzelecki to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: The 29-year-old had made three appearances for the Guardians out of the bullpen, allowing no runs on four hits in four innings. He figures to serve as organization bullpen depth throughout the season. Rotoworld Today, 11:32 am
