      Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday that Miller (shoulder) is coming up on a minor-league rehab assignment "pretty quickly," Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

      Advice: Miller threw a bullpen session Monday, his second since being placed on the injured list with inflammation in his right shoulder April 13. Roberts noted that the right-hander's velocity was "good" in the session and sounded optimistic about Miller's progress in his recovery from the injury. The second-year hurler will make at least one minor-league rehab start, though it's still unclear how many more bullpens he'll throw before he reaches that point.       Advice: Although Ober wasn't credited with the win, he allowed three or fewer hits for the fifth time in his last six appearances. Both runs against him came in the second, when Mitch Haniger swatted a leadoff homer and Luis Urias scored from first on a Dylan Moore double. After a hideous eight-run, 1.1-inning start to kick off the regular season, Ober has been outstanding, with a 2.55 ERA and a 34:7 K:BB across 35.1 innings.       Bailey Ober allowed two earned runs over five innings while striking out seven in Tuesday’s loss to the Mariners.

      Advice: Ober allowed two runs in the second, one of which came on a solo homer to Mitch Haniger, but he was largely in control in this one. He walked just one batter to go along with three hits, and he retired the last six batters he faced before turning things over to the bullpen. The Twins’ relievers would go on to allow eight earned runs over four innings to spoil Ober’s perfect outing, as he’ll now look to notch his second win of the month on Sunday against the Blue Jays.       Bobby Miller (shoulder) threw another bullpen session earlier this week.

      Advice: Miller is expected to get in another throwing session later this week before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has been out since mid-April due to right shoulder inflammation. It sounds like he’ll be ready to return to the Dodgers’ starting rotation before the end of May.       McKenzie didn't factor into the decision Monday against Detroit, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: McKenzie settled in nicely after allowing a solo home run to Riley Greene on his first pitch of the day, striking out three straight to close out the first and keeping the Tigers from adding on more runs. He's now allowed two or fewer runs and struck out at least six batters in four consecutive starts, bringing his ERA to 3.97 through 34 innings. However, McKenzie still appears to have the training wheels on after missing most of the 2023 season with elbow and shoulder injuries, as he's been kept under 85 pitches in five of his seven starts this year.       Triston McKenzie allowed one earned run and stuck out six in five innings against the Tigers on Monday.

      Advice: McKenzie allowed a home run to Riley Greene on the first pitch of the game and after that, the 26-year-old shut down the Tigers’ offense. McKenzie has at least six strikeouts in four straight games and has gotten his season ERA under four for the first time this season (3.97 ERA).       Cease (4-2) earned the win Friday against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on three hits and no walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Cease continued his brilliant start to the season, generating 18 whiffs on 102 pitches. The former White Sox pitcher appears to have re-discovered his 2022 form, posting a 2.55 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 48:14 K:BB over 42.1 innings.       Dylan Cease allowed just a run in 6 2/3 innings against the Diamondbacks on Friday while picking up a win.

      Advice: Cease was able to pick up his fourth win of the season with the victory. The right-hander picked up eight strikeouts in the process while not issuing any walks. When the 28-year-old throws strikes, he’s one of the toughest pitchers to have success against, and Friday was a good example of that. He’ll look to repeat his success against the Cubs next week.       Civale escaped with a no-decision Friday in Tampa Bay's 10-8 win over the Mets, coughing up seven runs on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: New York tagged him for three runs in the second inning and four more in the fifth, but Civale still left the mound with the Rays ahead 9-7. The right-hander tossed 52 of 77 pitches for strikes as he allowed five or more runs for the third straight outing. The rough patch has sent his ratios soaring, and Civale will carry a 6.14 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB through 36.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the White Sox.
