    • Kirby Yates holds on for seventh save against A’s
Kirby Yates allowed one run with one strikeout in the ninth inning to record a save against the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Up by five runs in the ninth, Owen White started the inning for the Rangers, but loaded the bases with no outs. Yates came on to clean it up, but gave up a sacrifice fly and a pair of hits to bring Oakland to within one run. He held on to escape the jam and end the game with his seventh save. • Martín Pérez charged with four runs versus Angels
Martín Pérez yielded four runs in five-plus innings Wednesday versus the Angels.

Advice: It was two runs through five, but Pérez allowed two singles to start the sixth and both runners came around to score off Luis Ortiz. Pérez struck out five and walked none. His 36/13 K/BB ratio in 45 innings this season is an improvement over his typical ratio, but he’s still not someone we would consider in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:19 pm
    • Kirby Yates notches save against A’s
Kirby Yates earned his sixth save with a hitless ninth Monday against the Athletics.

Advice: After settling for a win in a two-inning outing on Sunday, Yates was back closing tonight and had an easy time versus the A’s. David Roberson also pitched in a second straight game tonight, so the Rangers might need to think outside of the box if they have another lead Monday. Perhaps José Leclerc or Josh Sborz could earn a save. Rotoworld Monday, 11:31 pm
    • Keeps rolling with another save
Yates picked up a save against the A's on Monday, walking one batter in a scoreless inning of work.

Advice: Yates got the ball with Texas holding a two-run lead in the ninth inning and walked the second batter he faced to bring the tying run to the plate. However, the veteran reliever got Brett Harris to line into a double play to end the contest and secure his sixth save. Yates still hasn't given up a run this season, and he's yielded just three hits over 15 innings. After resurrecting his career in Atlanta's bullpen last year, he's emerged as one of fantasy's most valuable closers early in the 2024 campaign. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:57 pm
    • Secures extra-inning win
Yates (3-0) earned the win after he pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a walk while striking out two batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Advice: Yates entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Rangers trailing 2-1, and he was able to work around a walk to keep it a one-run deficit going into the ninth. After Texas tied it up at 2-2, the right-hander returned for the following frame, setting the Royals down in order. The Rangers went on to win in the 10th inning, earning Yates his third victory of the year. The 37-year-old has yet to allow an earned run this season while posting a 0.50 WHIP with five saves over 14 innings in 12 appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:14 pm
    • Blows save, takes first loss Friday
Foley (2-1) allowed two runs on four hits without recording an out to blow the save and take the loss Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Foley came on in the ninth inning to protect a 1-0 Detroit lead, but the righty struggled and blew his first save of the season in 10 chances. He's still sitting with a solid 2.63 ERA overall and should remain the team's closer for now, though it's a fluid situation with Alex Lange, Shelby Miller and Andrew Chafin all potentially waiting in the wings if Foley stumbles again. Lange led the Tigers with 26 saves last year and has been sharp with a 0.75 ERA in 2024, so he may be the next man up in this bullpen. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:23 am

    • Yields three runs
Blanco allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out six during a win over Seattle.

Advice: All the damage against Blanco came via the long ball, with Jorge Polanco going deep in the third inning followed by Dylan Moore in the fifth. Entering Friday's start, Blanco had given up just two homers through 32.2 frames. It was the first time this season he's allowed more than two runs in an outing but he still produced his fifth quality start. Blanco owns a terrific 2.09 ERA with a 36:16 K:BB. His next start is lined up to come on the road against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:14 pm

    • Ronel Blanco allows three over six against Seattle
Ronel Blanco was charged for three runs over six innings Friday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: He gave up five hits while walking three and striking out six. Blanco gave up a pair of homers Friday, one of them being a solo shot by Jorge Polanco and the other a two-run homer by Dylan Moore. The right-hander exited with a 3-1 deficit, but the Astros were able to score four after he left to keep him off the hook. Blanco will take a 2.09 ERA into his next start which is scheduled for Thursday against the Yankees. Rotoworld Friday, 8:05 pm

    • Fades late in loss
Perez (1-2) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings as the Pirates fell 3-2 to the Rockies. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Advice: The veteran lefty was engaged in a scoreless pitchers' duel with Cal Quantrill through five innings, but Perez ran out of gas in the sixth. He exited after 88 pitches (61 strikes), coming up two outs short of his fourth quality start of the season. Perez will take a 3.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 31:13 K:BB through 40 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Angels. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:34 pm
