    • Clubs go-ahead homer
Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI during Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Hernandez drove in all three of the Dodgers' runs Wednesday, plating Freddie Freeman on a first-inning single before re-taking the lead in the sixth on a two-run homer that also scored Freeman. Hernandez has gone yard four times in May, batting 8-for-25 (.320) with six runs scored during the month. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:28 pm
    • Chas McCormick ready for rehab assignment
Chas McCormick (hamstring) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment over the weekend.

Advice: McCormick, 29, has been sidelined since April 28 due to a right hamstring strain. He has been running and hitting without any issue though and should only need a couple of games there before he’s ready to return to the Astros’ lineup. Expect him back at the start of next week if everything goes according to plan. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:23 pm

    • Rehab stint on tap
Manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that McCormick (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment this weekend, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old landed on the injured list with hamstring soreness last week, and he is now on the cusp of returning to game action. McCormick will likely only need a few games in the minors to get back up to speed due to the brevity of the absence, though he could use a few extra at-bats given his .603 OPS through 21 games. • Teoscar Hernández homers, Dodgers fillet Marlins
Teoscar Hernández went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Wednesday, powering the Dodgers to a 3-1 victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Hernández was a one-man wrecking crew, taking full advantage of a tasty matchup for him against young southpaw Ryan Weathers, delivering a run-scoring single in the opening frame before crushing a two-run blast in the sixth inning. It was the lefty-mashing veteran slugger’s 10th round-tripper of the season and fourth time he’s gone deep in his last six contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:35 pm
    • Slugs sixth homer
Arozarena went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder went yard for the third time in the last five games, and while he has only four hits over that stretch, all four have gone for extra bases. Arozarena still isn't quite locked in at the plate -- he hasn't put together a multi-hit performance since March 30 -- but he appears close to breaking out. A hot streak is long overdue, as he sports a .152/.253/.311 slash line through 36 contests with six homers, six steals, 13 RBI and 16 runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:52 am
    • Out of lineup with illness again
Rengifo (illness) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Rengifo will miss out on a fifth consecutive start while he continues to recover from an illness. With Rengifo stuck on the bench once again, the Angels will clear a spot in the infield for Ehire Adrianza, who will start at second base and bat leadoff Wednesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:19 am

    • Logs two hits in loss
Duran went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Duran's line Tuesday was similar to his previous game Sunday, when he logged a double and triple in a win over the Twins, only he didn't score against Atlanta. That's partially due to Boston's woeful 1-for-14 performance with runners in scoring position (13 LOB). Duran's done a good job of not letting any slumps linger -- the bane of his first two seasons in the majors -- and is batting .267/.339/.420 over 168 plate appearances. Tuesday's triple, his sixth, vaulted him to the top of MLB. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:20 am
    • Homers in Tuesday's loss
Nootbaar went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, three walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

Advice: Nootbaar supplied a late home run in the ninth off Adam Ottavino to bring the Cardinals within two runs. It was his first long ball since his season debut April 12. His eye at the plate was magnificent, as he drew three walks for the first time since Sept. 15 after having walked just twice since April 20 entering Tuesday's game. The 26-year-old has yet to find a groove at the dish thus far, slashing only .183/.295/.329 with eight extra-base hits, eight RBI, seven runs and a 13:17 BB:K in 96 plate appearances. • Homer, five RBI in victory
Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and five total RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Reds.

Advice: Carroll looked back at home in the leadoff spot Tuesday -- a season-opening slump had lowered him to the bottom third of the order the last two weeks. After driving in two runs early in the game, the 23-year-old outfielder broke the game open with a three-run homer off the left-handed Justin Wilson in the seventh inning, his second long ball of the year and first since April 9, extending Arizona's lead to 5-0. After a brutal start to the season, it looks like Carroll may be starting to turn things around at the plate -- he now has at least one hit in six of his last seven contests, going 8-for-27 in that span. He's still slashing an uninspiring .211/.300/.278 through 34 games with 15 runs scored, 12 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:51 pm
