    Advice: The MRI on his right knee didn't show any structural damage, and GM Derek Falvey indicated Buxton may only require a minimum-length stay on the injured list.     Advice: The Twins haven’t commented publicly on the results of Buxton’s MRI exam yet, but the fact that they’re terming the injury as only inflammation and not anything structural is certainly encouraging. Twins’ manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters that he’s hopeful Buxton will be able to return in 10-14 days, but that seems a bit optimistic given Buxton’s lengthy injury history.     Advice: Doval entered in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run lead and retired the side in order on 14 pitches. He's given up just two runs over 11 innings since a rough season debut against San Diego on March 30.     Tyler O’Neill drove in a run while reaching three times in a loss to the Giants on Thursday.

    Advice: O’Neill was responsible for the only run of the game for the Red Sox with a double off Kyle Harrison in the third that scored Rafael Devers. O’Neill was also able to draw a pair of walks, and he improves his line in 2024 to .309/.429/.667. Calling his first month-plus as a member of the Red Sox is quite the understatement.     Camilo Doval struck out a batter in a scoreless inning of work while picking up a save Thursday against the Red Sox.

    Advice: Doval is now up to six saves on the season. The right-hander didn’t allow a hit while picking up a strikeout, and he pounded the zone with 11-of-14 pitches going for strikes.   • Provides lone run in loss
    Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Tigers.

    Advice: Contreras also struck out three times Wednesday for the third consecutive game. He'll likely be happy to put the Tigers in the rear-view mirror after going 1-for-13 with nine strikeouts during the three-game series in Detroit. That poor stretch has dropped Contreras to a .258/.373/.505 slash line on the year, and he's added five homers, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored, eight doubles and a stolen base through 110 plate appearances.
