  • Notches eight strikeouts in win
    Peralta (6-4) picked up the win Sunday against the Cubs, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings.

    Advice: Peralta yielded a solo home run to Nico Hoerner in the opening frame, but the 28-year-old was locked in afterwards, yielding just one other hit to notch his seventh quality start of the season. The right-hander has shown an impressive ability to miss bats, registering an 11.6 K/9 that ranks in the 95th percentile. Despite the lofty strikeout totals, Peralta has been mildly disappointing this season, logging a pedestrian 3.83 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 94 innings.   • Picks up 16th save
    Jansen earned the save Sunday against San Diego, striking out one batter during a perfect ninth inning.

    Advice: Jansen was lights-out, and he has now converted on 12 straight save chances. It was his seventh straight appearance without allowing a run. He's been fantastic as of late, with a 0.70 ERA over his last 12 appearances. The 36-year-old has converted 16 of 17 save chances this season and will carry a 2.22 ERA and 1.02 WHIP into July.   • Peralta strikes out eight, picks up sixth win
    Freddy Peralta allowed one run in seven innings and got the win in the Brewer’s 7-1 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.

    Advice: Peralta gave up two hits, walked two and struck out eight. It was his sixth win of the season and third in June. Peralta has completed at least six innings and struck out eight batters in two of his last three starts. That’s a real positive considering that before that stretch he had completed six innings in just one of his previous six starts. Peralta has a 3.83 ERA on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander has a tough matchup against the Dodgers on the road next weekend.

    Kenley Jansen notched his 16th save with a scoreless ninth Sunday against the Padres.

    CJ Abrams went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base on Sunday against the Rays.

    Advice: The Nationals offense was quiet in this one despite Abrams’ knack for getting on base. This was the second time in five games Abrams drew multiple walks and his walk total for June got up 11. That’s a welcome sight after he walked just one time the entire month of May.     Abrams went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI in an 8-1 win against the Rays on Saturday.

    Advice: Abrams didn't wait long to make his presence felt, swatting a 396-foot homer to lead off the contest. It was the 13th long ball of the campaign for the shortstop, and he's well on pace to surpass the 18 home runs he hit during his first full big-league season last year. Abrams hasn't been as successful as a runner this season -- he's just 13-for-22 in stolen-base attempts after going 47-for-51 in 2023 -- but he's otherwise shown growth in nearly every offensive category, slashing .278/.334/.498 with 20 doubles, five triples, 50 runs and 42 RBI through 328 plate appearances. The right-hander recorded his seventh quality start over his past eight outings, and he's posted an excellent 2.09 ERA and 0.93 WHIP during that span. Irvin didn't seem like he'd be a fantasy factor this year after posting a 4.61 ERA and 1.42 WHIP as a rookie last season, but he's provided strong ratios with a 3.03 ERA and 1.06 WHIP along with an 86:23 K:BB across 98 frames.
