    • Garrett Crochet strikes out eight in no-decision
      Garrett Crochet held the Brewers to one run over six innings while striking out eight Saturday in a no-decision for the White Sox.

      Advice: Crochet scattered five hits with one walk. The left-hander continues to impress even while playing for arguably the worst team in baseball, and he’s struck out 19 over his last two outings while allowing just three runs over 12 innings. Any question that Crochet has the stuff to succeed as a starter was pretty silly, but it should have been answered now. The questions of whether he can handle the modern rigors remain in doubt, but right now, Crochet is an excellent fantasy option even if the wins won’t come.     • Delivers another quality start
      Crochet didn't factor into the decision in an extra-inning loss to the Brewers on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Crochet's now logged quality starts in five of his last six outings, posting a stellar 1.03 ERA in that span (35 innings). The 24-year-old left-hander continues to provide a bright spot on a rebuilding White Sox team -- Crochet's ERA is down to 3.49 on the year with a 0.93 WHIP and 93 strikeouts, good for second most in the league.     • Blown save Friday
      McArthur took a blown save in Friday's 11-8 loss to the Padres, allowing four runs on four hits without retiring a batter.

      Advice: McArthur inherited a brutal situation from John Schreiber, who left the bases loaded with no outs in the eighth inning. McArthur let all three inherited runners score after allowing four straight singles, and Will Klein was unable to slow the Padres' rally. While he's still a high-leverage option, McArthur was awful in May with a 9.00 ERA and 1.90 WHIP over 10 innings while going 4-for-7 in save conversations. He's at a 5.32 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 23:3 K:BB through 23.2 innings, and he's giving up too many hits to find long-term success, though the Royals lack relievers who have pitched well over the last month.       Ronel Blanco took his first loss Friday after giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings against the Twins.

      Advice: Blanco walked three and gave up a two-run homer to Trevor Larnach. Apart from the time he was ejected for his sticky stuff, this is the first time this year that Blanco has failed to complete five innings.     • James McArthur gives up four runs in blowing save
      James McArthur gave up four runs without retiring a batter in the eighth to take a blown save Friday against the Padres.

      Advice: Josh Schreiber, McArthur and Will Klein combined to give up nine runs in the eighth after the Royals entered the inning with a 3-2 lead. The good news for McArthur was that Schreiber, the Royals’ best alternative in the closer’s role, was pretty much equally ineffective tonight. Schrieber still has a big ERA lead on McArthur (3.00 to 5.32) and McArthur is up to four blown saves, so a change might be considered. Rotoworld Friday, 9:00 pm

      Blanco (5-1) took the loss Friday against Minnesota, allowing four runs on three hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Blanco faced 20 batters, marking a season low, not including his May 14 start against Oakland when he was ejected after three innings for a foreign substance. The Houston right-hander also yielded a season-high four runs, pushing his ERA up to 2.44 overall in 59 innings.       Blanco (5-0) allowed a run on four hits and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Athletics.

      Advice: Blanco fired five scoreless frames before coughing up a solo shot to Max Schuemann in the sixth inning. It was Blanco's first start since May 14 after serving a suspension for using a foreign substance. He forced 17 swinging strikes, including seven with his slider. It was the third time in nine starts that he's reached that number. Blanco lowered his ERA to a stellar 1.99 with a 51:22 K:BB through 54.1 frames.     • Scoreless streak ends in loss
      Crochet (5-5) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out 11 over six innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Orioles.

      Advice: Crochet was able to extend his scoreless streak to 24 innings, which began with his last two frames versus the Cardinals on May 5. It came to a close when Adley Rutschman took him deep in the sixth inning of Sunday's contest, and that was enough to snap Crochet's four-start winning streak as well. On the bright side, he earned a fifth straight quality start and reached double-digit strikeouts for the third time this year. Crochet is at a 3.68 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 85:14 K:BB through 63.2 innings over 12 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Brewers.       Ronel Blanco allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings in a win over the A’s on Sunday.

      Advice: Blanco struck out six and walked one, allowing just a solo home run to Max Schuemann in his outing. He induced 17 whiffs for a 31 percent whiff rate and 33 percent CSW. He got right back to doing what he was doing after his controversial suspension, and he now has a 1.99 ERA on the season to go along with a 5-0 record.
