• Grabs save in Game 1
Duran retired the only batter he faced to earn the save in a 6-2 win over the Athletics in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader.

Advice: Cole Sands left two runners on with two outs, but Duran was able to get Abraham Toro to ground out to end the contest. This was Duran's first save in five appearances, though he added a hold and two wins in that span. The closer is up to 11 saves, four holds, a 3.60 ERA, a 1.10 WHIP and a 17:8 K:BB over 20 innings this year. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:32 pm

  • Collects 10th save
Fairbanks worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save Sunday against Atlanta. He walked one and struck out two.

Advice: Fairbanks worked around a leadoff walk in the ninth, striking out Ozzie Albies to secure his 10th save in 11 opportunities. Fairbanks' performance came on the heels of him allowing his first earned run since mid-April on Saturday, a span of 15 outings. For the season, he holds a 3.13 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 23 innings with 25 strikeouts. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:40 pm
  • Pete Fairbanks locked down Braves for save
Pete Fairbanks struck out two and walked one en route to his 10th save of the season on Sunday.

Advice: Fairbanks has been solid since returning from the IL last month with six saves in as many chances. It’s worth keeping an eye on his walk rate though as it’s inched up over 12%, the highest mark of his career. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:27 pm
  • Gets final out for save
Stanek allowed a hit but was not charged with a run over one-third of an inning, earning the save in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Eduard Bazardo struggled in the ninth inning after being brought in with a six-run lead. He gave up three runs and Stanek allowed one inherited runner to score before getting Corey Seager on a groundout to end the contest. Stanek is gaining an increasingly notable role in the Mariners' bullpen, having earned four saves over his last six appearances, though he likely got this opportunity because Andres Munoz had pitched the last two days. Stanek is up to seven saves with a 4.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB over 27 innings. At this point, the Mariners' closer situation should be considered a committee between Stanek and Munoz, with the latter likely to receive assignments in the highest-leverage spots. • Ryne Stanek gets one-out save against Rangers
Ryne Stanek got the final out to get a save against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Stanek gets the save even in a 7-3 game because he faced the tying run. The right-hander allows a two-run single to Marcus Semien, but those runs were charged to Eduard Bazardo. He was able to get Corey Seager out to end the game, but it’s worth noting it took a terrific play by Tyler Locklear to get that out. Stanek now has seven saves in 2024. • Notches win Friday
Duran (2-2) allowed a walk over two scoreless innings Friday. He struck out one and earned a win over Oakland.

Advice: Duran kept the Athletics off the board in the ninth and 10th frames as the Twins eventually delivered the walk-off win. He's 2-0 with a hold over his last three outings since coughing up three runs against the Pirates on June 8. The 26-year-old righty has not picked up a save since June 2. For the season, Duran's ERA is down to 3.66 with a 17:8 K:BB and 10 saves through 19.2 innings. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:57 am

  • Deployed in eighth inning
Munoz walked one and struck out three in a scoreless and hitless eighth inning to earn a hold in Friday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Munoz has been dealing with a back issue for most of June so far, but he's still seen high-leverage work when available. The right-hander was deployed in the eighth inning Friday against the top of the Rangers' lineup, while Ryne Stanek got the call in the ninth and earned the save. Munoz has picked up three holds and a loss over his last four outings, but it seems this is less about his injury and more about a matchups-based approach to the late innings by manager Scott Servais. Munoz has a 1.55 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB with 12 saves and six holds through 29 innings this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:32 pm
  • Secures sixth save
Stanek allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.

Advice: This was the second outing in a row in which Stanek got a save, as manager Scott Servais deployed Andres Munoz against the top of the Rangers' lineup in the eighth inning. Stanek has kept runs off the board in eight of his last nine outings, though the exception was a three-run meltdown versus the Royals on June 7. He's pitched to a 4.05 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 28:10 K:BB with six saves, 10 holds and two blown saves over 26.2 innings. Stanek's numbers aren't dominant, but he's done well enough to remain in the high-leverage mix. Munoz is still the primary closer, but Servais may be leaning toward a committee approach in the late innings during a busy stretch in which the Mariners play 22 games in 23 days. • Secures third save
Vesia allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Royals.

Advice: Most of the Dodgers' bullpen had pitched twice over the last three days, including regular closer Evan Phillips. The two freshest relievers were Vesia and Daniel Hudson, who earned the win after pitching the eighth inning. Vesia is on an 8.2-inning scoreless streak with a 13:1 K:BB, two saves and two holds in that span. He continues to impress this season with a 1.13 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB over 32 innings. He's up to three saves and four holds, so while he hasn't often been rewarded for his strong pitching, he's still capable of handling high-leverage assignments. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:48 pm
