    • Brown allows three runs in four innings Saturday
Ben Brown allowed three runs in four innings and took the loss against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Brown gave up three hits, walked one and struck out three. He allowed five runs in his last start, which was also against the Reds. Brown has completed five innings in only three of his eight starts for the Cubs this year. He’s still looking for his first win as a starting pitcher. Outside of his performance on May 28th against the Brewers when he went seven innings, allowed no runs and recorded 10 strikeouts, Brown’s been fairly pedestrian when starting. The 24-year-old right-hander is tentatively scheduled to face the Cardinals at home next week.

    • Camilo Doval locks down 11th save vs. Rangers
Camilo Doval tossed a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Doval was summoned with a two-run lead to close out the game in the ninth. He walked the leadoff man and gave up a single to bring the go-ahead run to the plate with one out. He induced a groundout and a fly out to end the game and secure the win for the Giants, picking up his 11th save. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago
    • Spencer Howard pitches well in no-decision
Spencer Howard allowed one run with two strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.

Advice: Howard made his first start of the season after following an opener in his last two outings. He pitched well, holding the Rangers to one run. Howard walked two batters in the first inning before Nathanial Lowe brought a run in on a sacrifice fly. Howard would pitch into the fifth, leaving at 74 pitches with one runner on and two outs as he fell just short of qualifying for the win. The 27-year-old right-hander has a 2.03 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and a 9/3 K/BB ratio across 13 1/3 innings. He’s in line to pitch, either starting or following an opener, against Angels in San Francisco on Friday. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago
    • Andrew Heaney allows three runs in loss to Giants
Andrew Heaney allowed three runs with four strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a loss to the Giants on Saturday.

Advice: Two hard hits by Heliot Ramos did all the damage against Heaney on Saturday. After walking a batter in the first inning, Ramos doubled to put the Giants on the board. Ramos got to Heaney once again in the third with a two-run homer. Heaney tossed two more scoreless frames, leaving with two outs in the sixth. He struck out five. The 33-year-old left-hander will take a 4.06 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 58/15 K/BB ratio across 62 innings into a start against the Mariners in Seattle on Friday. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Marsh allows four runs, strikes out eight vs. M’s
Alec Marsh gave up four runs in five-plus innings while striking out eight Saturday against the Mariners while being credited with a win.

Advice: Marsh, 26, gave up seven hits without issuing a walk. The first pitch he threw was hit over the fence by J.P. Crawford, but he settled down nicely over the next few innings while taking advantage of Seattle’s swing-and-miss issues. He did struggle in the fifth before being pulled, but the stuff was better than this line suggests. Marsh has streaming appeal, but that appeal doesn’t apply to a scheduled start next week against the Yankees. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago

    • Struggles in London
Manaea (3-3) took the loss Saturday against the Phillies in London, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Manaea got off to a good start Saturday, holding the Phillies to just one hit through his first three scoreless innings. However, Bryce Harper launched a home run with one out in the fourth before Philadelphia rallied for five runs with two outs in the frame, forcing Manaea from the game. The left-hander's now allowed 11 earned runs over 9.1 innings in his last two starts after pitching to a 2.70 ERA over his previous seven outings. Overall, Manaea sports a 4.30 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 60:25 K:BB across 60.2 innings this year. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, currently scheduled for next week at home versus the Padres. Rotowire.com Today, 2:06 pm

    • Back in majors
The Diamondbacks recalled McGough from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Advice: The Diamondbacks sent McGough to Reno in early May, and he has since recorded a 2.92 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across 12.1 innings for the Aces. He'll now return to Arizona to give the Snakes another fresh bullpen arm, replacing Humberto Castellanos. Rotowire.com Today, 1:57 pm
    • Diamondbacks recall Scott McGough from Triple-A
Diamondbacks recalled RHP Scott McGough from Triple-A Reno.

Advice: He’ll take the place of Humberto Castellanos in the Diamondbacks’ bullpen. McGough has already made 15 appearances out of the Diamondbacks’ bullpen this season, registering an unappealing 6.75 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and a 10/10 K/BB ratio over his 16 innings of work. Rotoworld Today, 1:54 pm
    • Optioned to Triple-A
The Diamondbacks optioned Castellanos to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Advice: Castellanos was selected to the active roster Thursday, and he will now head back to the minors after giving up five earned runs in 2.1 innings during Friday's loss. He'll remain on the 40-man roster as he heads back to Triple-A, but the D-backs will likely be hesitant to call him back up to the majors based on his poor performance. Scott McGough will come up from Reno to fill the open bullpen spot. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm
