    • Just misses quality start
Kikuchi allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Houston on Wednesday.

Advice: Kikuchi gave up just one run through five frames before serving up a solo shot to Yordan Alvarez in the sixth. The southpaw got two more outs in the inning but was pulled one out shy of a quality start following a Jeremy Pena double. Despite that disappointment, this was a positive outing for Kikuchi after he had given up 13 runs across 11 frames over his final three starts of June. The hurler has fallen off after a strong start to the campaign -- across his past eight appearances, he has just one quality start while registering a 6.50 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB across 36 innings. • Settles for no-decision Wednesday
Blanco allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Toronto on Wednesday.

Advice: Blanco fared fine after giving up six runs (three earned) in his previous outing, though fantasy managers in leagues that count quality starts will no doubt be disappointed that he was pulled having tossed 5.2 frames. That hook may have also cost the right-hander a victory, as he had a one-run lead when he was relieved by Tayler Scott, who promptly gave up a single to allow the tying run to cross the plate. While Blanco has posted a modest 8.2 K/9 on the campaign, his overall numbers are strong -- he's recorded a 2.53 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 96 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 12:35 am

    • Cristian Mena surrenders four runs in debut
Cristian Mena allowed four runs with two strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Mena got into trouble immediately in this one, giving up a hit and a walk to put two runners on for Freddie Freeman, who took him deep for a three-run blast to put the Dodgers ahead. Teoscar Hernandez followed with a solo homer. Mena tossed two more scoreless frames and end his day after three innings with two strikeouts. Heā€™ll likely retreat back to Triple-A following the spot start against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:38 pm
    • Gavin Stone struggles against Diamondbacks
Gavin Stone allowed four runs with three strikeouts over three innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Advice: This wasnā€™t one Stoneā€™s best outings as the Diamondbacks chased him after just three frames. A base hit and two walks loaded the bases before the Diamondbacks brought a run in on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. He worked around a bases-loaded jam in the second, then gave up three runs, including a two-run blast by Gabriel Moreno, in the third. That was it for Stone, ending his day with a 3.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 73/28 K/BB ratio across 92 innings. Heā€™ll take on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Tuesday. • Dean Kremer strikes out eight in win over Mariners
Dean Kremer tossed five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: Kremer was excellent in his first start off the injured list after missing over a month with a triceps issue. He scattered two hits and two walks over five shutout innings, striking out eight batters on 16 whiffs. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 3.93 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 57/20 K/BB ratio across 55 innings into a start against the Cubs in Baltimore on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:41 pm
    • Logan Gilbert gives up four runs in loss
Logan Gilbert allowed four runs with six strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a loss against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: Gilbert worked through two quiet innings against the Orioles before things unraveled a bit in the third. He walked two batters to put a pair of runners on for Ryan Oā€™Hearn, who doubled to put the Orioles on the board with two runs. Ryan Mountcastle singled to make it a three run game before Gilbert struck out the final batter to escape the frame. He surrendered one more run on a solo homer by Oā€™Hearn in the fifth and recorded one out in the sixth before his day was done. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 2.91 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 108/24 K/BB ratio across 117 2/3 innings into a start against the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:40 pm
    • Joey Estes tosses complete-game shutout Wednesday
Joey Estes tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out four in a win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Advice: Estes was incredible on the mound on Wednesday, tossing his first career complete-game shutout against the Angels. He scattered five hits and one walk, striking out four batters. He was able to escape trouble with three ground ball double plays by his infield defense. The 22-year-old right-hander will look to follow up the excellent start when he takes a 4.39 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 43/13 K/BB ratio across 54 2/3 innings into a start against the Red Sox in Boston on Tuesday. • Colin Rea blanks Rockies over seven innings in win
Colin Rea tossed seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: Rea made his most impressive start of the season on Wednesday, holding the Rockies scoreless in Colorado across seven frames. He scattered six hits and struck out four batters with no walks, tossing 67-of-97 pitches for strikes. The 34-year-old right-hander will take a 3.34 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 66/28 K/BB ratio across 94 1/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Milwaukee on Tuesday. • Michael Wacha strikes out eight Rays in win
Michael Wacha allowed just one run across six frames on Wednesday in the Royalsā€™ 4-2 win over the Rays. He struck out eight, walked three, and gave up just three hits en route to a victory.

Advice: The eight punchouts matched a season-high for Wacha. Heā€™s gone eight straight starts allowing two or fewer earned runs with a stint on the injured list in-between. He did his usual dance of cutters and changeups en route to this fantastic start. While not flashy, Wacha remains incredibly steady. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:15 pm
