    • Lynn gets third win against Braves Monday
      Lance Lynn allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings and got the win in the Cardinals’ 4-3 victory over the Braves on Monday.



      Advice: Lynn gave up four hits, walked none and struck out five. The win was Lynn’s third of the year. It was his first quality start since May 27th. Lynn lowered his ERA to 3.86 and he has a 4.02 xFIP on the season. His 5.73 ERA from last year appears to be an outlier. Lynn is close to getting a strikeout per inning, but he’s only completed six innings in four of his 16 starts this year. The 37-year-old right-hander is set to face the Reds at home this weekend.

      Jansen (3-1) allowed a hit in a scoreless inning Monday. He struck out one and earned a win over Toronto.

      Advice: Jansen worked a quick ninth inning, needing only 10 pitches to keep the game tied 6-6. Boston won the game in the bottom of the frame and gave him his second win of the month.       Bichette (calf) went through a full workout Monday and remains on track for activation from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Tuesday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Bichette's placement on the IL earlier this month with a right calf strain seemed to be precautionary more than anything else and he's slated for a minimum absence.       Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Monday that he's optimistic Arenado (forearm) will be ready to return to the lineup in the coming days, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

      Advice: Arenado will miss a second straight start Monday against Atlanta with a left forearm issue, which is evidently something that's bothered the third baseman off and on throughout the season.       Nolan Arenado took grounders on the field prior to Monday’s game and could rejoin the Cardinals’ lineup in the next few days.

    • Mariners activate Jorge Polanco from IL
      Mariners activated Jorge Polanco (hamstring) from the 10-day IL.

      Advice: Polanco has not been off to a good start in 2024, hitting just .195/.293/.302 this season. He will seemingly replace Ryan Bliss at second base even though Bliss is hitting .295/.354/.477 in 18 games in June with one home run and four RBI.
