    • Begins rehab in ACL
Lawlar (thumb) started at shortstop and went 0-for-2 with a walk for the Diamondbacks' affiliate in the Arizona Complex League on Wednesday.

Advice: Lawlar began a rehab assignment Wednesday, playing five innings in the field. He's been working his way back from a ruptured UCL tendon in his right thumb, and his rehab recently involved at-bats at the team's training facility at Salt River Fields. The plan, as outlined by Arizona farm director Shaun Larkin to Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports, is for Lawlar to get in 2-to-3 weeks of game action before joining Triple-A Reno. The shortstop is up to a .255/.328/.454 slash line with nine long balls, 39 RBI, 30 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 55 contests this season. • Ends power drought
Yelich went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Yelich's last homer was was April 10. He dealt with a back injury that kept him out of the lineup for nearly a month, and his power was the last part of his game to return. The outfielder has gone 20-for-69 (.290) over 18 contests since he returned from the injured list, though he's logged just six extra-base hits in that span. For the season, Yelich is slashing .306/.390/.546 with six homers, 22 RBI, 19 runs scored, seven stolen bases, four doubles and two triples over 29 contests. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:44 pm

    • Christian Yelich homers, drives in three Wednesday
Christian Yelich went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, three RBI, and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Cubs.

Advice: After going hitless in his last two games, Yelich put the Brewers on the board in the first inning with a two-run blast off Shota Imanaga. It was the first extra-base hit Imanaga has allowed to a left-handed batter. Yelich later knocked a base hit in the third and scored on a double by Gary SĂĄnchez. • Pete Fairbanks nabs win
Pete Fairbanks got the victory for the Rays with a scoreless ninth inning before they walked it off in the bottom half. He allowed one hit.

Advice: Fairbanks was bailed out by Jose Siri, who saved a run with a great catch in center field before delivering the game winning hit to grab Fairbanks the victory. This was his second straight outing without a punch out. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:57 pm
    • Getting afternoon off
Realmuto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Realmuto will get a breather for the afternoon game after he started behind the plate each of the previous three days while going 3-for-13 with eight strikeouts. He recorded exactly one hit in each of those contests to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. Unless he's deployed off the bench Wednesday, Realmuto will look to extend the streak to 18 when he likely returns to the lineup for Friday's series opener versus the Cardinals. • ‘Banged-up’ Semien sits for first time since 2022
A “banged up” Marcus Semien is out of the Rangers lineup Wednesday for the first time since May 12, 2022.

Advice: Semien has been playing at less than 100 percent after colliding with Adolis GarcĂa in left field on May 18 and is just 4-for-33 at the plate in eight games since the incident. The Rangers are off Thursday and are hoping that a two-day break will help. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:48 am
    • Lengthy starting streak ends
Semien is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Semien will get a day off for the first time since May 12, 2022, ending a streak of 349 consecutive regular-season starts. Though Semien isn't nursing a new injury, manager Bruce Bochy told Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News that the 33-year-old will be getting a couple days of rest -- Texas is off Thursday -- before returning to the lineup Friday in Miami since he's been playing a little banged up after he was involved in a collision in the outfield with teammate Adolis Garcia in a May 18 game. Ezequiel Duran will step in at second base in Semien's stead Wednesday, while designated hitter Travis Jankowski takes over Semien's spot atop the batting order. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:43 am
