    • Delivers walk-off home run
Burger went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer in Sunday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Burger was 0-for-4 with a pair of punchouts before he belted a three-run shot to win the game in the ninth inning. He's gone deep three times in his last 10 games after halting his 11-game drought. On the year, Burger owns a disappointing .216/.256/.356 slash line with nine home runs and 31 RBI through 68 games. • Dylan Cease gives up two homers in defeat
Dylan Cease yielded three runs in seven innings Sunday in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The runs came on longballs from two players who had totaled two and six homers while serving as regulars all year long. He’s given up 14 homers in his last 14 starts, resulting in a 5.11 ERA even though he has an impressive 103/22 K/BB ratio in 79 1/3 innings over that span. There’s no reason he can’t bounce back with a big second half, but there’s also no good reason he isn’t already pitching better. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:47 pm
    • Christian Yelich homers, plates three to lead Crew
Christian Yelich went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, three runs scored and three RBI on Sunday afternoon, leading the Brewers to a 9-2 rout of the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Advice: Yelich opened the scoring in Sunday’s contest with a 418-foot (107.2 mph EV) two-run blast off of rookie left-hander Justin Wrobleski in the fourth inning. He then singled and scored on a two-run knock by Blake Perkins in the eighth inning. Yelich also tacked on an RBI double in the ninth and scored on a double by Garrett Mitchell. He’s having an outstanding season in the middle of the Brewers’ lineup, slashing .329/.407/.533 with 11 homers, 41 RBI and 19 stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm
    • Jake Burger hits game-winning home run
Jake Burger went 1-for-5 with a game-winning three-run home run in a 7-4 win over the White Sox on Sunday.

Advice: With two runners on in a one-run game, the White Sox elected to walk Jesus Sanchez to set up a righty-righty matchup with Michael Kopech against Burger. Burger responded with a 431-foot shot to win the game. It was just his ninth home run of the season after hitting 34 last year, and the 28-year-old may be better off playing for a new team after the trade deadline. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:10 pm

    • Heading out for rehab assignment
Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday that he anticipates Bednar (oblique) reporting to Triple-A Indianapolis this week to begin a rehab assignment, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Bednar has been on the 15-day injured list since June 23 with a left oblique strain, but he's on the cusp of a return after he threw a 21-pitch live batting practice session Saturday without incident. Cherington didn't say whether Bednar would require more than one rehab appearance with Indianapolis, but with the All-Star break looming, it wouldn't be surprising if the Pirates waited until the start of their second-half schedule July 19 before activating their closer. • Sitting Sunday
Rodriguez (quadriceps) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays but could be available as a pinch hitter, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Advice: The 23-year-old was removed early in Saturday's contest due to discomfort in his lower right quadricep, though it doesn't appear he's dealing with a serious injury. Rodriguez may be available off the bench, but the Mariners could play it safe and give him a couple days to rest up as the team has a scheduled day off Monday. • MRI comes back clean on RodrĂguez’s right quad
An MRI on Julio Rodríguez’s right quad showed no stuctural damage.

Advice: RodrĂguez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays, but the outfielder is being kept out for precautionary measures according to manager Scott Servais, and he could be available off the bench. Even with the 23-year-old struggling for most of the 2024 campaign, this is obviously welcome news to fantasy managers who hope to see better things from RodrĂguez in the second half of 2024. • Julio RodrĂguez (quad) out Sunday against Toronto
Julio Rodríguez (quad) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s finale against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Rodríguez was removed with a right quad injury during Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays, and it’s unsurprising that he’s going to miss at least one full game with the injury. How much more time he misses will depend on the results of his MRI. Victor Robles gets the start in center field and will hit ninth against Toronto on Sunday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:22 am

    • Timely knock in big win
Gelof went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in a win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Gelof contributed to the Athletics' astounding seven-run second inning, lacing a two-bagger to left field that plated Brent Rooker and Shea Langeliers. The 24-year-old is enduring a tougher-than-expected second big-league season after setting high expectations a rookie in 2023, but he's showing a bit of life at the plate of late with a .257 average and .794 OPS across 41 plate appearances in his last 10 games. Nevertheless, his Achilles heel continues to be consistent contact -- even during that encouraging stretch, Gelof has struck out at a bloated 39.0 percent clip. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:46 am
