    • Daulton Varsho goes hitless versus Astros
Daulton Varsho went hitless in a seventh consecutive start Monday, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk against the Astros.

Advice: Varsho did get a hit off the bench Saturday, but he’s 1-for-28 with 13 strikeouts since June 19, dropping his average to .197. There’s too much homer and steal potential here to make Varsho droppable in fantasy leagues, but it’s tempting. Of course, he’s especially valuable in 6x6 leagues that include 280-foot flyouts as a category. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Productive in Sunday's loss
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to to the Twins on Sunday.

Advice: Crawford reached safely for the 10th straight game with his single, pushing his average to a solid .263 over that span. The stolen base was Crawford's fourth of the season, his highest total since the 2020 campaign. While the veteran shortstop's current stretch of hitting is easily his most productive of the season, Crawford is still sitting on a .215 average and .674 OPS across 61 games. • Fans 10 Sunday
Ryan allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out 10 over 5.2 innings Sunday against the Mariners. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Ryan got through four innings unscathed while racking up eight of his 10 strikeouts over that span. He found himself in some immediate trouble in the fifth after allowing a leadoff triple and wound up surrendering two runs in the inning following a pair of base knocks and a fielding error. Sunday was Ryan's second double-digit strikeout performance this season and his second straight outing without walking a batter. He's given up two runs or less in four of his last five starts, though that's only amounted to one win. The 28-year-old will carry an excellent 3.21 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 110:15 K:BB (103.2 innings) into a meeting with the ascending Astros over the weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:32 am

    • Extends hitting streak to 10
Diaz went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI on Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Diaz was productive throughout the game, though his biggest contribution came in the 11th inning when he kept a rally going that resulted in five runs. He extended his hitting streak to 10 games with the effort, which has been highlighted by four three-hit performances. In that span, Diaz has hit .429 with eight RBI and 10 runs scored. • Ryan Mountcastle sits due to illness
Ryan Mountcastle didn’t play Sunday because he was ill, according to manager Brandon Hyde.

Advice: Mountcastle also didn’t play Saturday, but since he occasionally sits against right-handers, that went without any explanation. That he was absent tonight against a lefty demanded one. There was no additional comment about whether the Orioles expected him to return Tuesday. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:31 pm

    • Dealing with illness
Mountcastle was unavailable for Sunday's 11-2 loss to the Rangers due to an illness, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Mountcastle's absence from the lineup was a surprising one Sunday considering his impressive .306/.359/.494 slash line against left-handed pitchers this season, but manager Brandon Hyde clarified after the contest that Mountcastle was feeling under the weather. With Baltimore off Monday, there's a good chance that Mountcastle will be ready to go for the team's series opener in Seattle on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:20 pm

    • Joe Ryan strikes out 10 in no-decision vs. M’s
Joe Ryan recorded 10 strikeouts and was charged with two runs (one earned) over 5 2/3 innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: Ryan delivered an outstanding performance on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Park, generating 16 swinging strikes - including 11 on his four-seam fastball alone - and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. He gave up six hits and didn’t hand out a free pass, although he did hit a pair of batters as well. The 28-year-old upper-echelon fantasy contributor recorded his second double-digit strikeout performance of the season and will aim to keep the momentum going when he faces the Astros on Saturday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. • Has four hits, drives in three
Castellanos went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Marlins.

Advice: For the second time in his last 10 games, Castellanos had a four-hit performance after having only one in his previous 264 games. Castellanos has 12 RBI over his last 11 games and now has 42 for the season. The recent hot streak has pushed Castellano's season line to .231/.289/.386 with 11 home runs through 83 games. • Blasts 10th home run
Bohm went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Bohm raked in June with five home runs and 20 RBI in 24 games this month. However, Bohm was 1-for-16 over his previous four games and got back on track, blasting his 10th homer Sunday. The fifth-year breakout continues for Bohm, who now has 68 RBI this season, the third-most in MLB. The 27-year-old has been one of the most consistent third basemen in MLB, hitting .300/.350/.489 over 81 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 3:05 pm
