    • Cristian Javier (neck) throws 68 pitches in rehab start
Cristian Javier (neck) made his first minor league rehab start at Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, giving up three runs on three hits over 3 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander walked a pair while striking out three batters in the contest. He threw 68 pitches in the game, 39 of those for strikes. There had been speculation that he would require just one rehab start before returning to the Astros’ rotation next week, we’ll see if that holds after how Saturday’s outing went. • Belts homer Friday
Machado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk Friday in a 7-1 victory versus Arizona.

Advice: Machado accounted for the Padres' final two runs in the victory with his fifth-inning blast. The homer extended his hitting streak to five games, though he's notched exactly one hit in each contest and is batting just .238 during that stretch. Machado does have six RBI during the hitting streak, though, which is more than he had accumulated in his previous 20 games combined. Rotowire.com Today, 11:29 am
    • Earns 10th steal
Witt went 1-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Witt's RBI single put the Royals up 3-1 in the seventh inning. He then stole second and scored on a Salvador Perez three-run home run. Witt is one of seven players to reach double-digit steals so far this season, though he's also been caught four times, most among those players. The shortstop is batting .357 during his seven-game hitting streak, and he's at a .318/.364/.538 slash line through 33 contests overall. Rotowire.com Today, 10:14 am

    • Slugs eighth homer
Perez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Friday's 7-1 victory over the Rangers.

Advice: Perez's three-run shot off Jose Urena capped off a six-run seventh inning for the Royals and extended the backstop's hitting streak to four games. He has yet to show any signs of slowing down at the plate, slashing .351/.413/.605 with eight homers and 30 RBI across his first 126 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:39 am

    • Collects three RBI
Arenado went 2-for-4 with two doubles and there RBI in Friday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Arenado gave St. Louis an early lead with a two-run double in the first inning before adding another RBI double in the fifth. Over his previous 13 games, he posted a disappointing .614 OPS with just one multi-hit performance. Friday's game was the first time he drove in multiple runs since April 20. Arenado is slashing .279/.338/.369 with nine extra-base hits and 16 RBI through 32 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:55 pm
    • Manny Machado swats two-run HR in victory
Manny Machado hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Machado extended the Padres’ lead to 7-0 with a two-run shot in the fifth. The third baseman also drew a walk, and it helps his improve his slash to .250/.306/.403 over 124 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:25 pm
    • Jhoan Duran fans two in earning second save
Jhoan Duran pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts for his second save Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Duran threw 11 pitches tonight and got five missed swings. His CSW was an absurd 64%, and he’s still just settling in after missing a month with a strained oblique. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:56 pm

    • Tanner Houck takes third loss versus Twins
Tanner Houck dropped to 3-3 after allowing four runs in six innings Friday against the Twins.

Advice: Houck deserves far better, but the Red Sox have totaled three runs in his three losses to date. His ERA stands at 2.18 after seven turns through the rotation. He’ll get the Nationals next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:56 pm
    • Tagged with four runs
Houck (3-3) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over six-plus innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Minnesota.

Advice: Houck gave up just one run through six frames before stumbling in the seventh. He allowed three straight runners to reach base without recording an out and was eventually charged with all three runs. He matched his season high with four runs allowed; in his other five starts this year, Houck has given up just three total runs through 33.2 innings. On top of that, he tied his season low by generating only six swinging strikes. Houck will carry a 2.18 ERA into his next outing, which is lined up to be at home against the Nationals next week.
