    • Vladdy Jr. playing third base again Tuesday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is hitting third and playing third base Tuesday against the Orioles.

Advice: That will make two of three games that Guerrero Jr. is playing third base. The infielder has been swinging the bat better as of late, and Toronto is giving him a chance to handle the hot corner. Justin Turner is playing first base and Daniel Vogelbach will operate as the designated hitter while hitting fourth. Rotoworld 26 minutes ago
    • Launches sixth homer
Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The 25-year-old crushed a Grayson Rodriguez slider in the fourth inning, sending it over the fence in straightaway center field with an exit velocity of 109.2 mph. Guerrero is beginning to flash a little more power -- over his last 11 games, he has three doubles and two of his six homers on the year -- but he's been making plenty of hard contact, slashing .367/.452/.495 since the beginning of May with 16 RBI and 16 runs in 28 contests. • Sharp in win
Rodriguez (6-2) picked up the win Monday against Toronto, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and zero walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings.

Advice: The only earned run allowed by Rodriguez was a solo home run by Vladimir Guerrero in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old set a new season-best with 6.2 innings pitched Monday, turning in his fifth quality start of the season. Rodriguez has found his groove over his past five starts -- in that span, the right-hander owns a 2.16 ERA and 31:12 K:BB in 29.1 innings. Rodriguez will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for this weekend in Tampa. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:43 pm
    • Strikes out six in no-decision
Skubal did not factor into the decision in Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Skubal surrendered a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien in the first inning but held the Rangers in check over the next five and left the mound in a 1-1 tie. Skubal allowed at least one baserunner in each inning, but he was still able to earn a quality start despite not having his best stuff. Through 12 starts, Skubal, who has not walked more than two batters in any game this season, has posted a sparkling 1.97 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 86:13 K:BB and tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Brewers on Sunday. • Skubal strikes out six in no-decision Monday
Tarik Skubal allowed one run in six innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Skubal gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six. He managed to earn a quality start for the ninth time in 12 starts this season. Skubal allowed a leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, but that was the only run the Rangers could muster against him. His ERA is now 1.97 as he continues to push for the AL Cy Young award. The 27-year-old left-hander will face the Brewers at home this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:29 pm

    • Vlad Jr. hits sixth home run Monday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Guerrero Jr.'s sixth of the season. He was back at first base after playing third base on Sunday. It would boost his fantasy value to add third base eligibility, but he’ll need a few more appearances at the hot corner for that. Guerrero Jr.'s average is up to .295 with an .808 OPS on the season. • Rodriguez picks up sixth win Monday
Grayson Rodriguez allowed two runs (one earned) in 6 2/3 innings and got the win in the Orioles’ 7-2 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: The win was Rodriguez’ sixth of the season. He gave up seven hits, walked none and struck out four. The Blue Jays scored on an RBI triple by Daulton Varsho and a solo home run by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Rodriguez has allowed more than three runs in only two of his 10 starts this season. His ERA is now 3.28 on the year. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays on the road this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:43 pm
    • Officially sent to Triple-A
The Tigers optioned Torkelson to Triple-A Toledo on Monday.

Advice: Multiple reports after the Tigers' 8-4 win over the Red Sox on Sunday suggested that Torkelson was en route to Triple-A, but Detroit waited until shortly before Monday's series opener in Texas to make the move official. Torkelson slugged 31 home runs last season, and many anticipated another step forward in 2024, but it simply hasn't come together, with the former top prospect slashing just .201/.266/.330 with four home runs across 229 plate appearances. He'll be back in the majors eventually, but a reset at Toledo was deemed necessary. Mark Canha will draw the start at first base Monday, and Gio Urshela will also be an option at the position while Torkelson is out of the picture. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:04 pm

    • Tigers officially demote Torkelson to Triple-A
Tigers optioned 1B Spencer Torkelson to Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: Torkelson was outstanding down the stretch for the Tigers last season, but he now has 1,318 major league plate appearances with a .218/.296/.386 line and he’s absolutely not making up for it with his defense. Triple-A is where he belongs right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:02 pm
