    • Burger blasts sixth home run Thursday
Jake Burger went 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run against the Mets on Thursday.

Advice: Burger’s home run was just his sixth of the season in 47 games after homering 34 times in 141 games last year. His .128 ISO isn’t even half of the .268 ISO he had last year. On the bright side, he’s 21-for-64 (.328) with three home runs in his last 16 games to bring his average up to .222. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm

    • Drives in two in loss
Cruz went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: The 25-year-old shortstop tied up the game with a two-run single off Lance Lynn in the fifth inning, but that finished the scoring for Pittsburgh. Cruz now has eight RBI over his last seven games, and his batting average in June is a solid .286. He will carry a .248/.300/.432 slash line with nine home runs and 28 RBI into a weekend series at Colorado. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:01 pm

    • Back in action Thursday
O'Hoppe (groin) is starting at catcher and batting fifth Thursday versus Arizona, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: O'Hoppe had to sit out Wednesday's contest after getting hit in the groin by a foul tip Tuesday, but he is seemingly feeling well enough to catch Griffin Canning in Thursday's series finale. The 24-year-old backstop has been white-hot at the plate recently, going 10-for-23 with a homer, two RBI and five runs scored since the beginning of June. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:23 pm

    • Logan O’Hoppe returns to Halos lineup on Thursday
Logan O’Hoppe (groin) is back in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: O’Hoppe is back handling the catching duties for Thursday’s series finale against Arizona following a one-game absence after taking a foul ball to the groin area during Tuesday’s contest. The 24-year-old backstop appears to have avoided serious injury and shouldn’t miss any additional time moving forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:05 pm

    • Nolan Gorman goes 0-for-4 against Pirates
Nolan Gorman finished 0-for-4 as the Cardinals’ cleanup man Thursday against the Pirates.

Advice: Gorman is 3-for-31 in his last eight games, putting him back down to .215/.297/.463 for the season. That’s still a pretty good line in the current offensive climate, but he’d be better cast as a No. 6 hitter. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm

    • Reynaldo López shuts out Orioles for six in win
Reynaldo López shut out the Orioles for six innings, striking out eight, in the Braves’ 6-3 win Thursday.

Advice: López left with a four-run lead, which was fortunate since Pierce Johnson gave up a three-run homer in the seventh. It’s just the fourth victory for López, even though he’s allowed three runs or fewer in all 12 of his starts. If he had done this for the 2023 Braves, he’d probably have at least twice as many wins right now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:01 pm

    • Jacob Young goes 0-for-3 in loss to Tigers
Jacob Young finished 0-for-3 against the Tigers on Thursday and is 2-for-23 in his last seven games.

Advice: Young did have two hard-hit balls today, which is notable considering that his 25% hard-hit rate is among the lowest in the majors. Power isn’t at all Young’s game, but it’s disturbing that his OBP has collapsed. He’s hit .217 and walked just three times in 99 plate appearances since May 10. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:28 pm

    • Royce Lewis making fourth straight start Thursday
Royce Lewis is at third base and batting third for Thursday’s series opener against the Athletics.

Advice: It’s a notable development that Lewis is making his fourth straight start after being eased back into game action last week following a lengthy absence due to a severe quad injury. The 25-year-old emerging fantasy stalwart is batting .321 (9-for-28) with four homers and seven RBI in eight games since returning back on June 4. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:26 pm

    • Tosses another gem
Lopez (4-2) earned the win Thursday, allowing no runs on two hits and a walk over six innings against the Orioles. He struck out eight.

Advice: Lopez allowed only three baserunners on the day, never more than one in an inning, and matching a season-high with eight strikeouts. Lopez has made a habit this year of tossing gems, collecting his eighth quality start while never allowing more than three runs in an outing and allowing two runs or less for the 11th time in 12 starts this season. Lopez will carry a league-leading 1.69 ERA into his next outing, currently scheduled to take place early next week when the Tigers pay a visit to Atlanta for a three-game set.
