      Blanco allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out six during the win over Seattle.

      Advice: All the damage against Blanco came via the long ball, with Jorge Polanco going deep in the third inning followed by Dylan Moore in the fifth. Entering Friday's start, Blanco had given up just two homers through 32.2 frames. It was the first time this season he's allowed more than two runs in an outing but he did produce his fifth quality start. Blanco owns a terrific 2.09 ERA with a 36:16 K:BB.     • Ronel Blanco allows three over six against Seattle
      Ronel Blanco was charged for three runs over six innings Friday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

      Advice: He gave up five hits while walking three and striking out six. Blanco gave up a pair of homers Friday, one of them being a solo shot by Jorge Polanco and the other a two-run homer by Dylan Moore. The right-hander exited with a 3-1 deficit, but the Astros were able to score four after he left to keep him off the hook.     • Tracking toward return next week
      Reds manager David Bell said Tuesday that he expects Montas (forearm) to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible May 7 or the day after, MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Montas was placed on the IL on April 22 with a bruised right forearm, which he sustained when he was struck by a line drive in his start a day earlier. Bell noted that Montas threw a side session Monday without issue, and the right-hander will throw one more bullpen session later this week as a final test of his health.       Blanco (3-0) earned the win Saturday over Colorado after he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks across 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: The right-hander surrendered a two-run homer to Ryan McMahon in the opening frame but otherwise had no issues pitching at altitude in Mexico City. Blanco came up an out short of extending his streak of quality starts to five, but it was yet another strong performance.       Ronel Blanco improved to 3-0 on the season on Saturday, limiting the Rockies to two runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings in Mexico City.

      Advice: The right-hander piled up eight strikeouts on the evening while walking a pair of opposing hitters. He served up a one-out, two-run homer to Ryan McMahon in the opening inning, then went on cruise control from that point forward. Blanco generated a whopping 21 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the ballgame — nine on his cutter and eight on his changeup — while posting a strong CSW of 28 percent. He has been a tremendous addition to the Astros’ rotation this season, compiling a 1.65 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 30/14 K/BB ratio over 32 2/3 innings through his first five starts.
