• Stuffs stat sheet
Gordon went 4-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Oakland.

Advice: Gordon was perfect at the plate Sunday, starting with his three-run jack in the first inning. Since his last multi-hit performance April 20, he'd been stuck in a 3-for-26 slump over 12 games. His homer Sunday was his fourth of the year and first since April 14. Gordon bumped his slash line to .207/.241/.390 with seven extra-base hits and 15 RBI through 87 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

  • Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) undergoes additional tests
Eduardo Rodriguez will undergo additional testing on his injured lat during the upcoming week.

Advice: The Diamondbacks are hopeful that if all goes well, he’ll be able to begin a throwing program. The team has already said that he’s unlikely to make his debut before June, and even the end of June seems optimistic with the way that this has played out so far. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago
  • Tosses four innings
Sanchez allowed two runs on three hits and three walks over four innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out two during the win over Oakland.

Advice: Sanchez threw four innings for the second straight outing and would've been in line for the victory if he went one more Sunday. He kept the A's scoreless through three frames before coughing up a pair of runs in the fourth. Sanchez lowered his ERA to 7.50 with a lackluster 11:7 K:BB through 18 frames. As of now, he's likely sliding back to the bullpen with Braxton Garrett (shoulder) and Jesus Luzardo (elbow) both expected to return soon. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago

  • Chased in first inning
Boyle (2-5) yielded four runs on a hit and three walks over one inning Sunday, striking out one batter and taking a loss against Miami.

Advice: Boyle narrowly escaped the first frame after coughing up a three-run shot to Nick Gordon. It was the shortest start of the year for Boyle and he threw just 16 of 35 pitches for strikes. The command has been a constant problem for him this season; Boyle has registered a 29:23 K:BB with a 7.16 ERA through 27.2 innings. As of now, he's in line for a start in Seattle next weekend. • Jake McCarthy has three hits in win over SD
Jake McCarthy went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI in an 11-4 win over the Padres.

Advice: McCarthy had a double and two singles on the night and is now slashing .311/.366/.392. The 26-year-old has been hitting leadoff consistently for the Diamondbacks but with Alek Thomas set to return from the IL this week, it’s unclear how the Diamondbacks will split playing time between him and McCarthy. It’s unlikely you can get anything in a trade for McCarthy, so you may just have to ride the wave and hope he can earn enough starts to remain productive. Rotoworld Today, 6:40 pm

  • Ryne Nelson inconsistent in first start off IL
Ryne Nelson allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings in a win over the Padres on Sunday.

Advice: It wasn’t a great start for Nelson, who posted a 15 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW. He got a lot of called strikes on his four-seam fastball, but the whiffs up in the zone were carrying him before the trip to the IL, and they just weren’t there on Sunday. There is certainly some upside in Nelson, but he has a 5.23 ERA on the season and should not be started against the Orioles next week. Rotoworld Today, 6:29 pm

  • First long ball of 2024
Raley went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 5-4 win over Houston.

Advice: Raley led off the sixth inning and delivered a solo home run -- his first in 62 plate appearances this year -- to give the Mariners a 3-0 lead. Through 25 games as a backup outfielder and first baseman, Raley is batting .230 with six runs scored and four RBI while striking out at a 29.7 percent clip. Rotowire.com Today, 6:28 pm

  • Effective against Minnesota
Criswell pitched 4.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits and a walk while striking out five batters in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Criswell was once again effective Sunday, limiting the damage against him to just a solo home run by Ryan Jeffers in the bottom of the third inning. The right-hander allowed a double to Carlos Santana to open the bottom of the fifth inning and was ultimately removed from the game after getting Jose Miranda to pop out in the following at-bat, which prevented him from qualifying for the win. Criswell now owns a 1.74 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 16 strikeouts over 20.2 innings in five appearances this season, including four starts. He is tentatively set to return to the mound Saturday at home versus the Nationals. Rotowire.com Today, 5:30 pm

  • Blake Treinen has highest leverage role on Sunday
Blake Treinen pitched a scoreless eighth inning with one strikeout against the Braves on Sunday.

Advice: The performance is of note because Treinen was tasked with facing Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ozzie Albies with the Dodgers up 4-1 in the eighth inning. He retired both on a combined five pitches. With Evan Phillips on the injured list with a hamstring injury, it’s possible Treinen could emerge as at least part of the closer committee. It was presumed that Daniel Hudson would lead the pack, but he didn’t pitch at all in this game despite not pitching since Friday. He could have been held back for the save, but it’s meaningful to note the hitters Treinen was tasked with getting out; he clearly has Dave Roberts’ trust. Rotoworld Today, 5:28 pm
