    • Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) throws bullpen session
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: It was Kershaw’s second bullpen session since undergoing offseason left shoulder surgery. The 36-year-old future Hall of Fame southpaw is targeting a midseason return to Los Angeles’ starting rotation mix and remains a viable option for fantasy managers on a per-start basis, when healthy. • Grayson Rodriguez unlikely to require rehab start
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) continued playing catch on Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez expressed optimism to reporters that he could return to Baltimore’s starting rotation following a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. It certainly doesn’t sound like there are any long-term concerns with the 24-year-old burgeoning ace. He should be able to jump right back into the Orioles’ stacked rotation mix by mid-May without a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm

    • Could return once eligible
Rodriguez (shoulder) "feels much better" and hopes to be reinstated once he becomes eligible May 15, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reported Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez has battled inflammation in his shoulder throughout May. However, per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, his move to the 15-day IL was to prevent the issue from growing into anything larger, and he could return to the O's without a rehab start. Rodriguez has a 4-1 record with a 3.71 ERA through six starts and would likely replace Cole Irvin in the rotation once available. Rotowire.com Today, 1:07 pm

    • Continues to destroy baseballs
Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and two stolen bases Monday in a 6-3 victory versus Miami.

Advice: Fresh off being named the National League's Player of the Week after posting an absurd .524/.583/.952 slash line over his previous five games, Ohtani crushed a 441-foot, two-run homer in his first at-bat Monday to open the scoring for Los Angeles. He went on to notch his third straight multi-hit game and added a pair of steals for good measure, giving him four thefts over his past four games. It took Ohtani nine games as a Dodger before he hit his first long ball, but he's since gone deep 11 times -- including four times over his past three games -- to take over the major-league lead in that category. He's also tied for second in the majors with 31 runs, tied for sixth with 27 RBI and leads all of baseball with a 1.139 OPS. In addition, Ohtani has nine stolen bases, putting him on the verge of becoming the league's first player with double-digit homers and thefts this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:52 pm

    • Shohei Ohtani homers, steals two bases vs. Marlins
Shohei Ohtani homered while stealing two bases in a 6-3 win over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: What is there to say? Ohtani became the first designated hitter for the Dodgers to homer and steal two bases since Eric Young did it back in 1998. End of similarities between Ohtani and Young. The two-way star absolutely blistered a two-run homer in the first for his 11th roundtripper of the year, and he’s already driven in 27 runs. There are not enough superlatives to describe how good of a baseball player Shohei Ohtani is. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:30 pm

    • Making progress with knee
Buxton (knee) has been running in a pool and participating in his normal workouts, but has not been swinging a bat, Dan Hayes of the TheAthletic.com reports.

Advice: An MRI on Buxton's injured right knee Thursday showed only inflammation and no structural damage. Buxton is optimistic he can return when eligible to come off the IL on May 12. However, the Twins may want to wait two more days until the Twins return from Toronto so he can avoid the AstroTurf of the Rogers Centre. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:08 pm

    • Works eighth inning
Duran struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning and earned a hold during Monday's win over Seattle.

Advice: Duran was called upon to face the Mariners' 9-1-2 hitters in a 3-1 contest. After earning a save in each of his first two appearances of 2024, he's picked up a hold in his last two games. Duran is the primary closing option in Minnesota but it appears there may be more of a committee than expected. Last season, he converted 27 of 32 saves and picked up only one hold. • Dominates against Mariners
Woods Richardson allowed a hit and a walk over six shutout frames in a no-decision Monday. He struck out eight during the win over Seattle.

Advice: Woods Richardson struck out the first four batters he faced and five of the first six through two perfect frames. Only one Mariner reached scoring position against him as he turned in the best outing of his MLB career. The 23-year-old righty generated 10 whiffs, matching his season high. Wood Richardson dropped his ERA to 1.74 with a 21:5 K:BB through 20.2 frames. His next start is projected to be this weekend in Toronto. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:48 pm
    • Simeon Woods Richardson blanks M’s over six
Simeon Woods Richardson struck out eight over six scoreless innings in a no-decision Monday against the Mariners.

Advice: Woods Richardson and Luis Castillo battled zero-for-zero for most of the contest, with the Twins breaking through after Woods Richardson departed the game. He allowed just a hit and a walk, and didn’t see a single runner advance into scoring position while he was in the game. This was a much improved effort from Tuesday’s lackluster outing against the White Sox, and at times, the Mariners looked flat-out overmatched. He’ll take a 3.35 ERA into his weekend start against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:52 pm
