    • Strikes out 10 in win
Lugo (7-1) earned the win Saturday over the Athletics, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out 10 over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Lugo was able to limit the damage to a two-run home run by Seth Brown in the second inning. This was Lugo's second straight start with double-digit strikeouts, though he came up one out short of a fifth straight quality start. The right-hander is now at a 1.79 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 58:13 K:BB through 65.1 innings over 10 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road against the Rays. • Lugo strikes out 10, picks up seventh win Saturday
Seth Lugo allowed two earned runs and struck out 10 in 5 2/3 innings and picked up the win in the Royals’ 5-3 victory over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: The win was Lugo’s seventh of the season and his ERA is 1.79. His 58 strikeouts are in the top 15 for qualified starters. The Royals can’t ask for more than what they’re getting from him right now and the same goes for fantasy managers. The 34-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Rays on the road next weekend.

    • Tosses quality start Saturday
Gausman came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Rays, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The veteran right-hander cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth and allowing all three of his runs. It was a solid bounce-back effort for Gausman after he got tagged for seven runs (six earned) in his last outing, and the quality start was his third of the season. He'll take a 4.89 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 43:11 K:BB through 42.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Detroit. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:34 pm
    • Fans career-high 14 in win
Gil (5-1) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 6-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out 14.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander set a new career high in Ks -- in fact, Gil had never struck out more than nine batters in a big-league start before. He generated an incredible 22 swinging strikes among his 98 pitches, and 40 combined called/swinging strikes, as he produced his fourth straight quality start and won his fifth straight decision. Gil is having a breakout campaign, and he'll take a 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 62:27 K:BB through 49 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners. • Kevin Gausman goes six innings in no-decision
Kevin Gausman allowed three runs with six strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Gausman had worked around four hits through five scoreless frames before the Rays would get to him in the sixth. Two base hits and a walk would load the bases with two outs. Amed Rosario knocked a single to plate two runs. José Caballero followed with a single to bring in one more before Gausman got out of the inning. He struck out six. The 33-year-old right-hander will take a 4.89 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and a 43/11 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings into a start against the Tigers in Detroit on Thursday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:56 pm
    • Luis Gil fans 14 in dominant win vs. White Sox
Luis Gil allowed one run with 14 strikeouts over six innings in a win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Gil turned in a dominant performance after a shaky first inning. Two base hits, a double, and a walk brought a run in to score and loaded the bases before Gil struck out the final batter to end the opening frame. He allowed just two more hits across five more scoreless innings, striking out a career-high 14 batters on 22 whiffs. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with an impressive 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 62/27 K/BB ratio across 49 innings. Gil is in line for a start against the Mariners in New York on Thursday. • Kodai Senga (shoulder) throwing again on Sunday
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session on Sunday.

Advice: Senga remains in a bit of a holding pattern with his recovery from a right shoulder issue as he continues to work on his mechanics. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return at the moment, but it seems plausible that he could be back before the end of next month, barring any setbacks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:36 am

    • Cole Ragans goes seven scoreless to defeat A’s
Cole Ragans blanked the A’s for seven innings, allowing just two hits, in the Royals’ 6-2 win Friday.

Advice: It’s the first time this year that Ragans has completed seven innings, though it’s the third time he’s pitched at least six scoreless innings. He’s 3-3 with a 3.70 ERA and an excellent 64/19 K/BB in 56 innings. Up next is a home start versus the Tigers. Rotoworld Friday, 10:28 pm

    • Skubal allows one hit over six to improve to 6-0
Tarik Skubal allowed one hit in six scoreless frames to help the Tigers to a 13-0 drubbing of the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Skubal didn’t issue a walk and struck out six while improving to 6-0 on the season. The southpaw has had no issue carrying over the dominant finish to his 2023 campaign, and this strong outing lowered his ERA to 1.80 with a remarkable 66/8 K/BB. Simply put, SKubal has established himself as one of the true fantasy aces in baseball right now. Rotoworld Friday, 9:23 pm
