    • Mitch Garver returns to Mariners’ lineup Friday
Mitch Garver (back) returned to the Mariners’ starting lineup on Friday night.

Advice: The 33-year-old slugger sat out each of the team’s last two games due to back spasms. He’s feeling much improved now though and ready to give it a go. He’ll serve as the team’s designated hitter and bat third against Orioles’ southpaw John Means on Friday evening in Baltimore. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • Gets break Friday
Caballero is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Caballero has started in the majority of games for Tampa Bay at shortstop this season, but he will get a break as the Rays kick off their series with Toronto. It's the 27-year-old's sixth absences in 46 this season, and he's slashing .252/.309/.360 with 17 stolen bases and 13 RBI. Amed Rosario will get the start in place of Caballero at shortstop and against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 1:17 pm

    • Back in lineup
Garver (back) is batting third and is the designated hitter for Friday's game against Baltimore.

Advice: Garver was scratched Tuesday with back spasms and was forced to miss Wednesday's contest due to the issue. However, he'll be back in action for Friday's series opener against the Orioles. In May, Garver is batting .243 with two homers across 45 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 1:10 pm

    • Stott returns to the lineup Friday
Bryson Stott is back in the lineup, batting fifth for the Phillies against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Stott came off the bench on Thursday and had an RBI single and RBI fielder’s choice against the Mets. He’s hitting .280 with a .842 OPS on the season. Rotoworld Today, 12:07 pm

    • Resuming activities Monday
Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomcyzk said Friday that Hayes (back) will resume baseball activities Monday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: The plan is for Hayes to play catch and field grounders Monday before progressing to swinging a bat Tuesday. Hayes landed on the injured list last weekend with a back injury which had been nagging at him for a while, but it sounds like he's feeling better after a little rest. He could have a shot to make it back before the end of the month if all goes well. Rotowire.com Today, 10:33 am

    • Happ moves into the No. 2 hole Friday
Ian Happ will bat second for the Cubs on Friday.

Advice: With Seiya Suzuki getting the day off, Happ will occupy the No. 2 spot in the order for the Cubs. He hit a solo home run on Thursday, but now draws a tough assignment against Pirates top pitching prospect Paul Skenes on Friday afternoon. Rotoworld Today, 8:33 am

    • Fans eight in loss
Glasnow (6-2) took the loss against the Reds on Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out eight over five innings.

Advice: Glasnow ran into trouble early, surrendering a leadoff homer to Will Benson to open the contest along with an RBI double to Tyler Stephenson four batters later. The Reds would get to Glasnow again in the third and fifth innings, marking only the second time this season he's allowed four or more runs in an outing. The right-hander had logged four consecutive quality starts coming into Thursday and still carries a 3.32 ERA in May to go along with a 28:4 K:BB. He's also struck out at least eight batters in five straight starts. Rotowire.com Today, 6:29 am
    • Hit hard again
Steele (0-1) took the loss against the Pirates on Thursday, surrendering five runs on six hits and one walk over 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: The Pirates tagged Steele for two runs in the top of the first on a two-run shot from Edward Olivares and proceeded to tack on runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. The lefty produced only one 1-2-3 inning on the night and allowed at least five runs for the second consecutive start. Steele has yet to make it through six innings in a start this year, though he did record a season-high seven strikeouts in Thursday's loss. Rotowire.com Today, 3:43 am

    • Tyler Glasnow surrenders four runs in loss to Reds
Tyler Glasnow struck out eight and was charged with four runs over five innings on Thursday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: It was a rare dud for Glasnow, who has allowed three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts at the outset of his Dodgers debut. The 30-year-old righty will bring a and 81/16 K/BB ratio across 62 innings (10 starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the division-rival Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Today, 2:55 am
