    • Nimmo has two hits, two RBI off bench
Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-3 with two RBIs after coming off the bench in a win over the Nationals on Tuesday.

Advice: Nimmo didn’t start the game after nursing a head injury when he fell in his hotel room on Sunday night and cut his head. However, he certainly seems to be healthy, knocking in a run on a single in the eighth to tie the game and then giving the Mets a two-run cushion in the 10th inning with an RBI double. Over the last six weeks, Nimmo is hitting .283/.377/.496 with six home runs, 27 runs scored, 21 RBI, and three steals in 33 games. He remains underrated in fantasy baseball. Rotoworld Today, 7:14 pm

    • Brandon Nimmo remains absent from Tuesday’s lineup
Brandon Nimmo (head) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Nationals.

Advice: The positive news here is that Nimmo is merely dealing with a forehead laceration that he suffered on Sunday night when he fell in his hotel room. The 31-year-old outfielder, who boasts a .291 (34-for-117) average with six homers and two steals over his last 30 games, will sit out a second straight contest on Tuesday evening, but it doesn’t appear that he’s facing a lengthy absence. It’ll be Jeff McNeil in left field once again in his place. Rotoworld Today, 1:33 pm

    • Still out of lineup
Nimmo (forehead) is absent from the starting lineup Tuesday against Washington.

Advice: Nimmo sustained a cut on his forehead Sunday night after falling in his hotel room. While he cleared concussion testing, he'll be held out of the lineup for a second straight night. Jeff McNeil will bat ninth and fill left field. Per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Nimmo will likely available off the bench Tuesday and expects to be back in the lineup Wednesday. • Three hits in Monday's loss
Ruiz went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Advice: It was the backstop's first three-hit performance since March 30, but his third multi-hit effort in his last five starts. Ruiz is showing signs of life at the plate, and over his last 11 games he's batting .289 (11-for-38) with three doubles. Rotowire.com Today, 8:32 am

    • Socks fourth homer
Clement went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: The 28-year-old utility player wasn't even supposed to be in the starting lineup, but a late scratch for Isiah Kiner-Falefa (knee) inserted Clement at third base, and he wound up taking Josh Hader deep in the ninth inning to spoil a combined shutout bid for Houston. The long ball was his fourth of the season, setting a new career high, and he's slashing .333/.347/.563 in 49 plate appearances since the beginning of June. Should Kiner-Falefa require an IL stint, Clement could see a big uptick in playing time, although Addison Barger would also be in the mix at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 7:45 am

    • Starts rehab assignment
Campusano (thumb) went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first rehab game with Single-A Lake Elsinore on Monday.

Advice: Campusano has missed just over a week of action with a thumb injury, so he shouldn't need too many rehab at-bats before being activated. Kyle Higashioka is coming off an eight-homer June, so it's possible Campusano -- who has just a .588 OPS since May 1 -- will play second fiddle at catcher for the Padres upon his activation. • Brandon Nimmo absent due to cut on forehead
Brandon Nimmo is out of Monday’s lineup after suffering a cut on his forehead when he fell in his hotel room last night.

Advice: Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like Nimmo hurt his head beyond he cut. His absence means the Mets have Jeff McNeil in the outfield and José Iglesias at second tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:48 pm

    • Nursing forehead laceration
Nimmo is absent from Monday's lineup against the Nationals due to a laceration on his forehead, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Nimmo suffered the cut when he slipped and fell in his hotel room Sunday night in Washington, D.C. He passed concussion tests and is expected to be fine, but the injury will cost him a start. It's not clear whether Nimmo might be available off the bench Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:45 pm

    • Getting rest Monday
Nimmo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With a tough lefty (MacKenzie Gore) on the hill for the Nationals and with the lefty-hitting Nimmo having started in each of the Mets' last 15 games, New York manager Carlos Mendoza likely viewed the series opener with Washington as an optimal time to give the 31-year-old outfielder the day off. Jeff McNeil will pick up a start in left field in place of Nimmo, who concluded June with a blistering .382/.485/.782 slash line over his final 14 games of the month. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:50 pm
