    • Westburg hits 10th home run in win Friday
Jordan Westburg went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Westburg’s home run was his 10th of the season. He hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to give the Orioles a 6-3 lead. The 25-year-old third baseman is having a breakout season for Baltimore. His 133 wRC+ is in the top 25 among qualified hitters this year. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Santander crushes 13th home run in win Friday
Anthony Santander went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: The home run was Santander’s 13th of the season and came against Rays starter Aaron Civale. While his average is a little lower than he’d like it to be this year at .227, the power is still there for Santander. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

    • Sitting down Friday
Jansen isn't in the Blue Jays' lineup for Friday's game against Oakland.

Advice: Jansen went 1-for-11 with a walk during Toronto's last series against the Orioles, and he'll now sit down for the second time in the Jays' last two games. Alejandro Kirk will fill in behind the plate to catch Chris Bassitt while batting sixth. Rotowire.com Today, 3:56 pm

    • Nico Hoerner out of lineup due to hand injury
Cubs manager Craig Counsell now says X-rays last night on Nico Hoerner’s hand came back “somewhat inconclusive,” and the second baseman is not playing in Friday’s game.

Advice: It was originally reported that the X-rays came back negative after Hoerner was hit on the right hand by a pitch. Hoerner, though, had some trouble gripping the bat and swinging today. Hopefully, this is still just a day-to-day thing. There is the potential for some bad news, though. David Bote is starting at second base tonight. Rotoworld Today, 2:26 pm

    • Sitting out after HBP
Hoerner is not in Friday's lineup in Cincinnati after being hit on the hand by a pitch in Thursday's win over the White Sox, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Hoerner was struck by a pitch in the fourth inning Thursday but stayed in and finished that game. He underwent a precautionary X-ray afterward, which evidently came back clean. However, it could be dealing with some residual soreness, hence his absence from Friday's lineup. Consider him day-to-day. David Bote will handle second base Friday. Rotowire.com Today, 1:22 pm

    • Twirls six scoreless innings
Woo (3-0) picked up the win Thursday, allowing two hits and no walks with six strikeouts across six scoreless innings against Oakland.

Advice: Woo threw a season-high 85 pitches Thursday, an encouraging sign for the 24-year-old after he missed all of April with elbow inflammation and exited his first start after his IL stint with forearm tightness. Even with a restricted pitch count, the right-hander has generated four consecutive quality starts and has fired 12 straight scoreless innings, giving him a 1.07 ERA and 24:2 K:BB through 33.2 innings. Woo's tentatively scheduled to face the White Sox on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 6:27 am

    • Nabs quality start in no-decision
Lopez allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over six innings in a no-decision against Washington on Thursday.

Advice: Lopez held the Nationals scoreless until the sixth inning, when CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas tagged him for back-to-back solo homers. Lopez looked like he could be on the ropes when the following two batters singled, but the right-handed hurler got out of the jam without another run scoring. That allowed him to register his seventh quality start in what has been a career-best campaign. Lopez ranks third among qualified starters with a 1.85 ERA through 63.1 innings on the season. • X-rays negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after HBP
X-rays came back negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after being hit by a pitch during Thursday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Hoerner remained in the contest and appears to have avoided serious injury after being plunked on the hand by a 96.5 mph fastball from Reds starter Hunter Greene during the early stages of the game. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to wind up missing any time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:44 pm

    • Lopez allows two in no-decision Thursday
Reynoldo Lopez allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 5-2 victory over the Nationals on Thursday.

Advice: Lopez gave up six hits, walked one and struck out seven. CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas hit back-to-back home runs off him in the sixth inning. The home runs Lopez allowed were his third and fourth of the season (0.57 HR/9). Only Ranger Suarez and Luis Gil have a lower ERA than Lopez’ 1.85 (min. 50 innings), though his xFIP is significantly higher at 3.71. He has eight quality starts but he’s only won three of his 11 starts this year. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week.
