    • Shaky in season debut
Williams (0-1) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up five runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings Wednesday as the Guardians fell 8-2 to the White Sox. He struck out two.

Advice: Making his 2024 debut after recovering from an elbow injury he suffered during spring training, Williams faded quickly and served up back-to-back doubles to Lenyn Sosa and Nicky Lopez in the fourth inning to kick off a four-run frame for Chicago. The right-hander got lifted after 74 pitches (46 strikes), but some rust isn't surprising and Cleveland will give him time to find a rhythm on the mound. Williams is scheduled to make his next start on the road early next week in Detroit. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
    • Swats first homer of season
Marte went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday in a 3-2 win against the Yankees.

Advice: Marte produced the bulk of Cincinnati's offense with his two-run blast in the second inning. That was his first hit in five games since going 3-for-5 in his return from an 80-game suspension June 27. Marte is batting .167 overall since being reinstated, collecting four RBI, five runs and two stolen bases across six contests. Rotowire.com Today, 12:28 am

    • Strikes out eight in quality start
Imanaga allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies.

Advice: Imanaga held his own versus a tough opponent, though he allowed home runs to Rafael Marchan and Alec Bohm. This was Imanaga's fourth quality start in his last five outings, the exception being a 10-run anomaly versus the Mets on June 21. The southpaw is now at a 3.16 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 92:15 K:BB through 91 innings over 16 starts this season. He's projected for another challenging opponent next week when he's lined up to for a road start in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 pm

    • Isaac Paredes clobbers first inning homer
Isaac Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks on Wednesday against the Royals.

Advice: Paredes started this game by smashing a changeup from Michael Wacha beyond the left field fence. Shockingly he pulled yet another home run right next to the left field foul pole. The long ball was a welcome sight as these past few weeks have felt like his longest cold streak since breaking out with the Rays two years ago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:14 pm

    • Shota Imanaga strikes out eight in no-decision
Shota Imanaga struck out eight and yielded three runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: Imanaga was cruising along early before giving up a solo homer to Phillies backstop Rafael Marchán in the third inning and a two-run blast to All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm in his final frame of work. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a 28 percent CSW. He’ll carry a sparkling 3.16 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 92/15 K/BB ratio across 91 innings (16 starts) into a tough road tilt against the Orioles on Tuesday in his penultimate outing prior to the All-Star break. • Noelvi Marte slugs first homer in win over Yankees
Noelvi Marte walloped a two-run homer on Wednesday, powering the Reds to a 3-2 victory over the Yankees.

Advice: Marte kicked off the scoring on Wednesday evening at Yankee Stadium with a 111.5-mph rocket into the left-field seats off New York starter Carlos Rodón in the second inning. It was his first round-tripper in six games since returning from a league-issued 80-game PED suspension back on June 27. The 22-year-old top prospect continues to show flashes of massive fantasy potential, but he’s gotten off to a pretty slow start as he re-acclimates to everyday life in the majors after an extended layoff. It might not all come together this season, but Marte has the skills to be a four-category fantasy monster in the near future. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:09 pm

    • Gavin Williams hit hard Wednesday in season debut
Gavin Williams was lit up for five runs over four innings on Wednesday in his season debut against the White Sox.

Advice: Williams looked sharp in his final few minor league rehab outings, so this certainly qualifies as an unexpected clunker, especially considering Chicago’s offensive struggles this season. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect allowed a run-scoring single in the opening frame, but kept the White Sox off the scoreboard into the fourth inning before coughing up four runs on five hits in a disastrous frame. Perhaps the more concerning variable here for fantasy purposes is that he mustered just a pair of strikeouts in his long-awaited season debut. He’ll aim for better results his next time out on Monday against the division-rival Tigers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:18 pm
    • Does light running
Harris (hamstring) began running Wednesday, but there's still no timetable for when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Harris suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain June 14 and was able to do some light running for the first time since sustaining the injury. Considering he still has multiple checkpoints to hit before being sent on a rehab assignment, Harris can safely be ruled out until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:01 pm

    • Secures 13th save
Duran struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 13th save of the season in a 5-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: After missing the first month of the season with an oblique strain, Duran has had a little trouble finding his usual form, but he may be coming around. The right-hander has been scored upon only once in his last 11 appearances, posting a 1.64 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB through 11 innings over that stretch while collecting three wins, three saves and a hold.
