    • Alex Bregman wallops two-run homer to defeat M’s
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Thursday, powering the Astros to a 4-0 victory over the Mariners.

Advice: Bregman broke up a scoreless stalemate with a fourth-inning shot -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- to left field off Mariners ace Logan Gilbert. He also tripled and scored a run in the sixth inning to cap off a multi-hit performance. The 30-year-old impending free agent has gone deep twice in his last three games since being dropped to the fifth spot in Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Thursday, 3:46 pm

    • Suzuki hits pinch hit home run Thursday
Seiya Suzuki went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Suzuki’s fifth of the season. He pinch hit in the seventh inning a homered off left-handed reliever Bryan Hudson. It was just the second home run for Suzuki since coming off the injured list on May 11th. He seems to be over the injury as he’s now on a seven-game hitting streak. • Absent from Thursday's lineup
Suzuki is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: The Cubs will go with Mike Tauchman in right field, Cody Bellinger at designated hitter and Pete Crow-Armstrong in center field as they try to salvage a series split. Though his power hasn't shown up yet this season, Suzuki enters Thursday's game with a modest six-game hit streak, going 8-for-27 over that span. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:29 am

    • Seiya Suzuki on the bench on Thursday
Seiya Suzuki is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Brewers.

Advice: Pete Crow-Armstrong, who was just promoted from Triple-A, will start in center field with Cody Bellinger moving to designated hitter and Mike Tauchman to right field. It could simply be a routine day off for Suzuki. Still, it’s noteworthy that the Cubs called up Crow-Armstrong today while demoting an infielder, thereby adding another outfielder to an already full position group. Suzuki has struggled in May, slashing .209/.260/.269 in 16 games while dealing with an injury. However, he has struggled early in the season in years past and is striking out just 19 percent of the time in May, so he is continuing to make contact. It should only be a matter of time before he gets it going again. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:26 am

    • Posts steal
Suzuki went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-6 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Suzuki has gone 8-for-27 (.296) during his six-game hitting streak, though he hasn't posted an extra-base hit since May 15. The outfielder's steal Wednesday was his second of the campaign. He's slashing .254/.312/.389 with four home runs, 16 RBI, 19 runs scored and five doubles over 31 contests. Suzuki isn't having a poor year by any means, especially when factoring in his four-week absence with an oblique injury, but he's also not standing out in any particular area. • Connor Wong collects two hits in loss to Orioles
Connor Wong went 2-for-4 and scored the Red Sox’ lone run in Wednesday night’s loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Wong smacked a one-out single off of Corbin Burnes in the opening inning and took second on a throwing error by Colton Cowser. He then went to third on an errant pickoff throw and scored the game’s first run on a ground ball off the bat of Dominic Smith. That would be the extent of the Red Sox’ offense though. With his two-hit attack, the 28-year-old backstop is now slashing .329/.368/.471 with five homers, 19 RBI and a stolen base on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:09 pm

    • Slugs game-winning homer
Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Nationals.

Advice: The veteran slugger broke open a scoreless tie when he took Jacob Barnes deep in the seventh inning, continuing his most recent hit streak. Ozuna has reached base safely in 21 straight games, a stretch in which he's slashing .324/.409/.662 with seven homers and 16 RBI. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:43 am

    • Swipes first bag, knocks in run
Wong went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Wong swiped his first bag of the season in the fifth inning then produced an insurance run with an eighth-inning single. The catcher, who batted .235 last season, continued a breakout at the dish and is batting .324 with an .836 OPS over 136 plate appearances. A .364 BABIP portends a correction is coming, but Wong is making more consistent contact and nearly halved his strikeout percentage, from 33.3 percent in 2023 to 17.6 percent in 2024. • Leaves yard Tuesday
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Bregman provided the Astros' lone run support with a two-run blast to left in the fourth off Luis Castillo. It was his first home run since May 14 and just his third extra-base hit since then. Despite multi-hit efforts in two of his last three games, Bregman is still hitting just .147 over his last eight games. His struggles have persisted throughout the season thus far, with the 30-year-old now slashing .212/.277/.335 with five homers, 23 RBI, 15 runs and a 19:30 BB:K in 224 plate appearances.
