• Sitting against lefty
Winker isn't in the Nationals' lineup for Sunday's game versus Colorado.

Advice: The left-handed bat of Winker will step out of the lineup Sunday as the Nationals prepare to face left-handed starter Kyle Freeland. Ildemaro Vargas will enter to cover left field and bat third while Winker sits. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

  • Pitches better Saturday
Neris worked around a hit and a walk to pitch a scoreless ninth inning in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets. He struck out two.

Advice: Neris was still a little shaky, but this was a step in the right direction after allowing seven earned runs over 2.2 innings and blowing two saves in his last three outings. The veteran worked the end of the game Saturday, though it wasn't a save opportunity, and Colten Brewer was the pitcher tapped for the team's last save chance in Wednesday's 6-5 win over the Giants. Neris is likely still the closer in Chicago moving forward, but his margin for error has shrunk. Rotowire.com Today, 7:10 am

  • Earns seventh win
Stroman (7-3) allowed three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six over 6.2 innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Stroman was sharp in his first quality start across four outings in June. He gave up a solo home run to Marcell Ozuna in the first inning and a two-run blast to Travis d'Arnaud in the seventh. Stroman has walked multiple batters in five straight starts, which has led to some recent inconsistency. He's at a 3.15 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and 67:40 K:BB through 91.1 innings over 16 starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at Toronto. • Marcus Stroman beats Braves to improve to 7-3
Marcus Stroman picked up his seventh victory of the season on Saturday night, limiting the Braves to three runs on just three hits over his 6 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Stroman piled up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of walks. The 33-year-old hurler had allowed just one run through his first six innings of work, but he returned for the seventh where he served up a two-run blast to Travis d’Arnaud before exiting. Stroman got 12 swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 27 percent. Now 7-3 on the season, he’ll tote a 3.15 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and a 67/40 K/BB ratio (91 1/3 innings) into Friday’s battle against the Blue Jays in Toronto. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm

  • Homers, drives in two in win
Morel went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Mets.

Advice: Morel hit an RBI single in the first inning and crushed a 446-foot solo home run in the third. Morel's .209 average so far in June is actually his highest in any month this season, and the homer was his fourth in 19 June games. The 24-year-old is batting just .202 to date but does have 14 home runs and 43 RBI over 267 at-bats in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:43 pm

  • Carlos Correa picks up three knocks in victory
Carlos Correa went 3-for-6 with an RBI and run scored in a blowout win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Correa had three of the Twins’ 16 hits on a day where Minnesota dominated from start to finish. The 29-year-old has been spectacular in the month of June, and this makes six games with at least three hits in that period. A .308/.369/.498 slash is fantastic, but Correa has somehow been considerably better as of late than that line suggests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:02 pm

  • Christopher Morel wallops 446-foot homer in win
Christopher Morel went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday, powering the Cubs to an 8-1 blowout victory over the Mets.

Advice: Morel contributed a run-scoring single as part of Chicago’s five-run opening frame against Mets starter Tylor Megill before clobbering a gargantuan 446-foot solo shot to left-center field -- his 14th round-tripper of the season -- a couple innings later. It was a much-needed tater for Morel, who hadn’t gone deep since June 11. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:19 pm

  • Gleyber Torres returns to lineup on Saturday
Gleyber Torres (groin) is back in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Braves.

Advice: Torres sat out Friday’s series opener following an early exit from Thursday’s game due to right groin tightness. It’s a positive sign that he’s back in the lineup and it confirms the belief from Yankees manager Aaron Boone that Torres wasn’t dealing with anything major. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:01 pm

  • Back in lineup Saturday
Torres (groin) is starting at second base and batting seventh Saturday against Atlanta.

Advice: Torres left Thursday's game against the Orioles in the sixth inning due to tightness in his right groin. He was held out of Friday's game as a precaution and is back in the lineup Saturday. For the month of June, Torres is slashing .194/.268/.387 with three home runs and 12 RBI over 62 at-bats.
