  • Shohei Ohtani drives in three against Rockies
    Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Rockies on Wednesday.

    Advice: Ohtani stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the second inning and cleared the bases with a double to tie the game. He later knocked a base hit for his second hit of the game.     Advice: Kwan got things going early, walking and scoring a run in the first inning then hitting a two-run homer in the second. He later added a single in the sixth. Kwan continues to rake since his return from a hamstring injury May 31, extending his hitting streak to 13 games with eight multi-hit efforts in that span.     Steven Kwan went 2-for-3 with a home run, walk, and two runs scored on Wednesday against the Mariners.

    Advice: Kwan continues what’s been an all-time start to the season. His batting average ticked back up to an unthinkable .397 and the homer was his fifth of the season.     Advice: The rookie center fielder accounted for the Padres' only run off Ranger Suarez, driving a two-seam fastball from the southpaw over the right-field wall in the second inning. Merrill has eight homers on the year, but five of them have come in the last seven games, boosting his slash line on the season to .279/.317/.417 with nine steals, 30 RBI and 32 runs in 74 contests.     Aaron Judge (hand) is not in the Yankees’ starting lineup for Wednesday’s showdown against the Orioles.

    Advice: The 32-year-old superstar took a pitch off of his left hand during Tuesday’s game, but fortunately X-rays and a CT scan came back negative for any structural damage. Judge reported feeling sore on Wednesday but was able to take some swings in the batting cage. He won’t require a trip to the injured list and should return to the Bombers’ lineup any day now.     Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Judge (hand) won't be in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Orioles, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: X-rays and a CT scan on Judge's left hand came back negative after he exited Tuesday's 4-2 win over Baltimore when he was hit by pitch. According to Meredith Marakovits of YES Network, Boone said that Judge took some swings in the batting cage Wednesday and is expected to avoid a trip to the injured list, but the slugger is still sore and will miss at least one start. Judge likely won't be available off the bench Wednesday, but the hope is he'll be able to return to action for Thursday's series finale. Trent Grisham will replace Judge in center field Wednesday.     Advice: Merrill kicked off the scoring in this one with a 401-foot second-inning blast to right field -- his eighth big fly of the season -- off Phillies starter Ranger Suárez. The 21-year-old rookie sensation has caught fire over the past few days, going deep a whopping five times over his last seven contests since June 12.     Advice: Candelario will be on the bench for the second game in a row while he deals with unspecified tendinitis. Reds manager David Bell already said that Candelario isn't at any major risk of landing on the injured list, so the expectation is that the veteran corner infielder will be good to go for Friday's series opener versus the Red Sox coming out of Thursday's team off day.
