• Swipes eighth bag
Varsho went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Getting the start in center field and hitting cleanup, Varsho pilfered his third bag in the last 10 games and his eighth of the season in nine attempts. The 27-year-old sports a lopsided .216/.296/.446 slash line on the season with 11 homers, 35 RBI and 40 runs in 69 contests, but his .742 OPS still provides a significant improvement on the Blue Jays' other option in center field, Kevin Kiermaier (.545 OPS). • Continues hot streak Tuesday
Happ went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Happ now has four straight two-hit efforts, which has pushed his season batting average from .212 up to .234. During the hot stretch, the outfielder has also gone deep twice and driven in seven runs. Happ has been a steady fantasy performer the last few years, and it looks like he'll deliver a similar level of performance in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 7:36 am

  • Solid in no-decision
Bassitt didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Boston, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Bassitt allowed fewer than four runs for a ninth consecutive start, stranding five Red Sox across six innings. The 35-year-old surrendered at least seven hits for the fourth time this season but wound up generating his seventh quality start of the campaign. Through 64.1 innings, Bassitt owns a 3.52 ERA and an 81:34 K:BB. He's tentatively scheduled for a rematch with the Red Sox in Boston early next week. Rotowire.com Today, 5:05 am

Dansby Swanson hit a two-run homer on Tuesday, leading the Cubs to a 5-2 victory over the Giants.

  • Dominant in fifth straight win
Lodolo (8-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Pirates, allowing a run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: A Ke'Bryan Hayes homer in the seventh inning was the lone mark against Lodolo on Tuesday as he earned his fifth straight win -- the left-hander hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start during that span. Overall, Lodolo's ERA is down to 2.76 on the year with a 1.01 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB across 65.1 innings. He'll look to extend his winning streak to six in his next outing, currently scheduled as a home rematch with the Pirates early next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:07 pm
  • Blasts homer, steals a base
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a steal in Tuesday's win over the Giants.

Advice: The veteran shortstop opened the game's scoring by drilling a 401-foot two-run homer off Logan Webb in the second inning. Swanson later added his fifth stolen bag of the season in the eighth. The big performance was a welcome sight for the 30-year-old, as he entered the evening on a cold spell where he'd gone hitless in 20 plate appearances over his last six games. Overall, Swanson owns a .209/.286/.255 slash line in 245 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:38 pm
  • Bassitt allows two earned runs in loss to Red Sox
Chris Bassitt allowed two earned runs over six innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Despite allowing nine baserunners on the evening, Bassitt managed to hold the Red Sox to just two earned runs, and pitched out of a jam with runners on to close out the sixth inning. The veteran righty continues to be a solid option in the middle of the Jays’ rotation, and has allowed just four earned runs over 18 innings in the month of June. Bassitt will get another crack at the Red Sox in his next start on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:33 pm
  • Nick Lodolo tremendous in win over PIT
Nick Lodolo allowed one run on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: The left-hander struck out eight and didn’t walk a single batter on the day. He got 18 whiffs on 50 swings for a 36 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW on the day. He did a good job keeping his fastball upstairs and the curve low in the zone, which led to a 57 percent whiff rate on the curve alone. Lodolo has always showcased high upside but injuries have gotten in his way; yet, he now has a 2.76 ERA on the year with a good start against these same Pirates next week. • Drives in three runs Monday
Happ went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Monday's loss to San Francisco.

Advice: Happ's seventh-inning, three-run homer snapped a 3-3 tie and appeared to give the Cubs a comfortable advantage, but the Giants scored three runs in the ninth to pull out the win. Nonetheless, Happ continued to break out of his recent slump -- over his past three contests, he's gone 6-for-9 with two homers, six RBI and three walks. Prior to the three-game stretch, Happ endured a rough span of eight contests during which he went 2-for-28 with 10 strikeouts. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:42 pm
