    • Nathan Eovaldi starting Friday versus Orioles
Nathan Eovaldi will start Friday’s second-half opener against the Orioles.

Advice: Eovaldi, whose name has surfaced in recent trade rumors as a possible target for the Red Sox in their quest to win the AL East, draws the starting assignment for Friday’s series opener against a star-studded Baltimore lineup to be followed over the weekend by veterans Max Scherzer and Andrew Heaney. • Michael Harris II likely back in August
The Athletic’s David O’Brien reported that Michael Harris II (hamstring) is “likely returning by early August.”

Advice: The 23-year-old was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on June 15th and is still working his way through baseball activities. Given the length of his absence, he will likely require a rehab assignment as well, which means it might be at least three weeks before Harris returns to the Braves lineup, in the best-case scenario. • Unlikely to return until August
Harris (hamstring) is still at least two or three weeks away from returning from the 10-day injured list, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The center fielder has yet to begin a rehab assignment as he recovers from a hamstring strain that's sidelined him since June 14. Harris was slashing a disappointing .250/.295/.358 prior to the injury, and in his absence, Jarred Kelenic has seized firm hold of the leadoff job. When Harris gets activated from the IL, expect him to hit in the bottom half of the order. Rotowire.com Today, 7:49 am

    • Red Sox could reunite with Eovaldi
The Athletic’s Jen McCaffrey mentions that the Red Sox could be interested in trading for Nathan Eovaldi if the Rangers drop out of the playoff race.

Advice: McCaffrey highlights that “Eovaldi wanted to return to Boston before he signed with Texas last year,” so he would likely be open to returning to the Red Sox. Boston is in the market for one starting pitcher to round out their rotation, so this is a story to monitor in the coming weeks. Rotoworld Today, 7:46 am
    • Garrett Crochet starting Tuesday against Rangers
Garrett Crochet will make his second-half debut on Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: It’ll be Chris Flexen, Jonathan Cannon and Drew Thorpe taking the ball during a three-game set against the Royals before Erick Fedde and Crochet draw their first second-half starts against the Rangers. The 25-year-old southpaw, who excelled earlier this week in the Midsummer Classic, figures to be one of the biggest names potentially on the move at the trade deadline. This could wind up being his final outing in a White Sox uniform. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:20 pm

    • Garrett Crochet shines in All-Star Game appearance
Garrett Crochet hurled a scoreless inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Crochet, arguably the hottest name in trade rumors at the moment, one-out single from Alec Bohm to work a scoreless fourth inning. He got a pretty strikeout of Teoscar Hernández in the frame as well. The 25-year-old left-hander, who has paired an astronomical 35 percent strikeout rate with a microscopic 5 percent walk rate, could be a difference-maker in the playoff race, depending on where he winds up in a few weeks. • Picks up another win Sunday
Sale (13-3) earned the win over the Padres on Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings.

Advice: Sale let up a run in the opening frame but was able to limit the damage to just a run after allowing three base hits in the inning. He silenced the Padres from there to pick up his league-leading 13th win and his third consecutive victory. He becomes the first Atlanta pitcher since 2000 to head into the All-Star break with 13 wins. Sale has now allowed two or fewer runs in each of his last seven starts and heads into the break with a 2.70 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 140:24 K:BB in 110 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:47 am

    • Logs fifth steal
Kwan went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Rays.

Advice: This was Kwan's first steal since June 25 and his fifth of the campaign on nine attempts. Given he missed a month with a hamstring issue, it's not a surprise he's been a bit more cautious on the basepaths. The outfielder is batting .283 in July and now has a .352/.407/.512 slash line with nine home runs, 27 RBI, 55 runs scored, 14 doubles and two triples through 308 plate appearances this year. • Escapes with save
Fairbanks allowed two hits in a scoreless inning and earned a save against the Guardians on Sunday.

Advice: Fairbanks was tasked with protecting a 2-0 lead and found himself in danger after coughing up singles to the first two batters he faced. He managed to retire the next three to escape unscathed. Fairbanks has converted 17 of 19 save chances this season while producing a 3.21 ERA and a 32:15 K:BB. Since the start of June, he owns a 2.55 ERA with 12 saves in 17 appearances. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:29 pm
