      Orioles activated Kyle Bradish (elbow) from the 15-day injured list.

      Advice: Bradish will get his first action on the bump this season against divisional rival New York in the final game of a four-game series. The 27-year-old right-hander has been on the injured list since the start of the regular season and comes back at a good time as the team had to place Grayson Rodriguez on the injured list on Wednesday.       The Orioles reinstated Bradish (elbow) from the 15-day injured list and will have him start Thursday's game against the Yankees at Camden Yards.

      Advice: Baltimore lost Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) to the 15-day IL on Wednesday, but they'll add two pitchers back into the rotation this week with Bradish returning Thursday and John Means (elbow) expected to take the hill Friday or Saturday in Cincinnati. Bradish was diagnosed with a sprained UCL in his pitching elbow upon reporting to spring training, but he was able to avoid surgery and has seemingly bounced back from the injury after a lengthy rest and rehab period. He closed his three-start minor-league rehab assignment on a high note last Friday with Triple-A Norfolk, striking out six over five innings and allowing one run on five hits and one walk. He built up to 77 pitches in that outing and should have only a light workload restriction in place Thursday when he makes his 2024 Orioles debut.       McKenzie did not factor into the decision in a win over the Astros on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over seven innings while striking out six.

      Advice: McKenzie was highly effective Wednesday despite getting down in the count early and often, striking out at least six batters for the third-consecutive start, with five of those strikeouts coming on his curveball. The right-hander issued only one free pass in the contest, which marked a season low, while also going seven innings for the first time in the early campaign. Individually, Holmes logged three strikeouts for the first time all year and his 1.2 innings of work marked his longest outing of the campaign.       Advice: All the damage against Burnes came in the fifth inning when Oswaldo Cabrera launched a two-run home run. Despite allowing three or fewer runs for a seventh straight start, Burnes was stuck with the loss Wednesday as the Orioles offense could only manage three total hits and didn't score. While Burnes has allowed a home run in six of his seven starts this season, he owns a 2.61 ERA over 41.1 innings with 41 strikeouts -- the sixth most in the American League.       Will Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo homer on Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Smith’s only hit of the game left the yard on Wednesday as he took Jordan Montgomery deep for a solo shot to lead off the third inning.       Triston McKenzie allowed two runs with six strikeouts over seven innings in a no-decision against the Astros on Wednesday.

      Advice: McKenzie was outstanding against the Astros on Wednesday. He had allowed just one hit across five scoreless innings before a double and a base hit brought the first run in for Houston in the sixth. Kyle Tucker led off the seventh inning with a game-tying homer. McKenzie finished the inning with two strikeouts, giving him six on the day.       Nico Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base on Wednesday in a 1-0 win over the Mets.

      Advice: Hoerner knocked a double in the first inning, then a single in the fifth. He drew a walk in the eighth to reach for a third time and stole second for his second steal of the season. Hoerner has hit out of the leadoff spot for the Cubs over the last two weeks, with both steals coming over that span. The 26-year-old second baseman is hitting .272/.349/.360 with 18 runs scored across 129 plate appearances. Hitting leadoff would help his stolen base rate if he can hold the top spot in the lineup.
