  • Vidal Bruján out of Monday’s lineup versus Padres
    After going 0-for-3 in an increasingly rare start Sunday, Vidal Bruján is out of the lineup for Monday’s game.

    Advice: Bruján was the Marlins’ primary second baseman before Tim Anderson got hurt, at which point he switched over to shortstop and Otto López took over at second. Unfortunately for Bruján, López got hot, and now Bruján has lost his spot with Anderson back, even though Anderson is running neck and neck with Andrew Benintendi for the title of baseball’s worst player.   • Logs steal in Sunday's win
    Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

    Advice: Gimenez had a couple of hitless games last week, but he went 5-for-15 with five RBI and was plunked three times over the last four games. The second baseman is up to eight steals on 11 attempts this season, with Sunday's steal being his first since May 17.     Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.

    Advice: Marte singled in his first at-bat to extend his hitting streak to 23 games and later added a solo homer to lead off the eighth, giving the Diamondbacks a 5-0 lead. The long ball was the second baseman's fifth this month, and he's now recorded at least one RBI in three of his last five games, batting .318 over that brief stretch.     Ketel Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in the Diamondbacks’ 6-0 win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.

    Advice: Marte came into this one riding a 20-game hitting streak. He extended it to 21 games right away with a base hit in the first inning. Marte later took Ryan Yarbrough deep for a solo homer in the eighth inning.     Gimenez went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mets.

    Advice: Gimenez provided a key blast in Cleveland's comeback victory, ripping a three-run homer off Jose Quintana with two outs in the sixth inning to tie the game 3-3. While the long ball was Gimenez's lone hit in the three-game series, he's gone 14-for-39 (.359) with three homers in his last 10 contests.   • Andrés Giménez laces three-run homer in victory
    Andrés Giménez hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth Wednesday in the Guardians’ 6-3 defeat of the Mets.

    Advice: The Mets took a 3-0 lead in the fourth today, but the Guardians did all of the scoring after that. The homer off Jose Quintana was Giménez’s fourth of the year. He’s still not hitting the ball like he did two years ago, but that his strikeout rate is down to 14% has helped him bat .266 and hitting second for the Guardians has given him a nice boost in runs scored (28) and RBI (30).     Advice: After a stretch of 16 consecutive starts, Brujan is on the bench for the second day in a row and appears set to operate as a utility man moving forward. His most recent nine starts came at shortstop, but Tim Anderson returned from the injured list Tuesday and has reclaimed everyday duties at the position. Meanwhile, Brujan looks to have lost out on playing time at second base to Otto Lopez, who has produced an .886 OPS thus far in May while chipping in two home runs and two stolen bases.
