• Collects first hit
Grissom went 1-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 9-2 win over Minnesota.

Advice: With Boston leading, 3-1, in the eighth inning, Grissom unloaded on a cutter from Kody Funderburk, driving it the opposite way for a two-run double. It was the first hit in a Red Sox uniform for Grissom, who was activated Friday after opening the season on the injured list. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago
  • Strong showing in rehab start
Luzardo (elbow) struck out six and allowed one hit and one walk over 5.2 scoreless innings in a rehab start with Single-A Jupiter on Sunday.

Advice: Luzardo needed just 67 pitches to cruise through his 5.2 frames. Per Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com, Luzardo averaged 95.1 miles per hour and touched 96.4 mph with his four-seam fastball. The Marlins will likely wait a couple days to make sure Luzardo recovers from the rehab start without any issues, but he should be set up to return from the 15-day injured list for this weekend's series versus the Phillies. • MLB updates ruling Friday
MLB changed the official scoring on a play during Friday's game, which left Houck charged with three earned runs over six-plus innings, not four, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: A fielder's choice in the seventh inning was updated to a throwing error by catcher Reese McGuire. The ruling drops Houck's season ERA to 1.99 and gives him a sixth quality start. Rotowire.com Today, 6:21 am
  • Sends game into extras
Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Advice: Heim knotted the game at two runs apiece with a ninth-inning home run that set the stage for Nathaniel Lowe's game-winning single in the 10th. For Heim, it was his fourth homer and first in 12 games. He's appeared in 29 of the team's first 35 games, which is a lot for a catcher whose bat has tailed off in August and September in each of the past two seasons. Rotowire.com Today, 6:11 am
  • No rehab assignment needed
Eovaldi (groin) is not expected to require a rehab assignment, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rangers manager Bruce Bochy expressed optimism that Eovaldi, who was placed on the injured list Friday, will return at the 15-day minimum. "We thought that [putting Eovaldi on the IL] was the best thing to do. He could be ready before then, that's a possibility, but we don't want to take any chances and will get more information and know exactly where he is at when he gets it looked at again [Monday]," Bochy said. Jack Leiter is expected to be called up and help fill the gap in the rotation until Eovaldi and/or Max Scherzer (back/thumb) are ready. Rotowire.com Today, 6:03 am

  • Tuesday's scheduled starter
Montas (forearm) is listed as the scheduled starter for Tuesday's series opener against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Montas, who has been on the injured list since April 22, threw a couple of sessions last week. That was apparently enough to avoid a rehab stint and jump back into the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 5:46 am

  • Jake McCarthy has three hits in win over SD
Jake McCarthy went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI in an 11-4 win over the Padres.

Advice: McCarthy had a double and two singles on the night and is now slashing .311/.366/.392. The 26-year-old has been hitting leadoff consistently for the Diamondbacks but with Alek Thomas set to return from the IL this week, it’s unclear how the Diamondbacks will split playing time between him and McCarthy. It’s unlikely you can get anything in a trade for McCarthy, so you may just have to ride the wave and hope he can earn enough starts to remain productive. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm
  • Ohtani has four hits, two HR in win over ATL
Shohei Ohtani went 4-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored in a 5-1 win over the Braves on Sunday.

Advice: This guy is pretty good. Ohtani got things started in the first inning with a 412-foot two-run shot off of Max Fried and then absolutely annihilated a 464-foot solo homer in the eighth inning that left the bat at 110.6 mph. Ohtani now has 10 home runs and 25 RBI on the season. There’s not much you can do if you don’t already have him on your team, but you can admire the talent. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:36 pm
