• Surrenders eight runs in loss
Waldron (1-4) took the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings.

Advice: Waldron suffered his worst outing of the season, allowing a career-high eight runs while also posting the shortest outing since he debuted last year. The Diamondbacks put up a four-spot on him in the first, highlighted by a two-run blast from Ketel Marte. They tacked on another two in the second and then chased him out of the fourth with back-to-back doubles to open up in the inning. Despite the shaky results, Waldron may have been given another life after Joe Musgrove was put on the 15-day IL Sunday with elbow inflammation. He now owns a 5.82 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB in 34 innings and is expected to take the mound against versus the Dodgers over the weekend. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago
  • Gets another save Sunday
Alvarado got the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants, allowing a solo home run while also striking out a batter in the ninth inning.

Advice: Alvarado served up a one-out solo blast to Jakson Reetz that pulled the Giants to within a run but was able to recoup with a strikeout and line out to end the game. The hard throwing lefty has picked up seven of the team's 12 saves so far this season, registering a 4.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB in 14.2 innings. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago
  • Handles Giants for win No. 2
Walker (2-0) earned the win over the Giants on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out seven over 6.1 innings.

Advice: The Giants got to Walker in the opening frame with a run, but he was able to silence them the rest of the way until Thairo Estrada crushed a two-run blast in the seventh to make it a 5-3 ballgame and end Walker's night. Walker has now carried strong outings into the seven inning in back-to-back starts to open up the season but hasn't quite been able to seal the deal. He has a 3.00 ERA through innings 1-6 and a 67.50 ERA in the seventh frame. His spot in the rotation is secure after the Phillies announced Spencer Turnbull would be operating as a bulk relief option moving forward. Walker owns a 6.39 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB in 12.2 innings and lines up to face the Marlins on the road his next time out. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago
  • Tallies three hits in win
Realmuto went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Realmuto slid into the No. 2 spot in the order with Trea Turner (hamstring) recently being placed on the injured list. He singled in the third and came home on Bryce Harper's three-run homer and would wind up notching two more base hits before his night was over. Sunday was the first three-hit effort of the season for Realmuto and his seventh multi-hit game. For the year, he's now slashing .259/.315/.431 with five homers, 14 RBI, 18 runs and a 9:34 BB:K in 127 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago
  • Clubs three-run homer in win
Harper went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Advice: Harper had the big hit of the evening, tagging Logan Webb for a three-run shot to center in the third to put the Phillies up 4-1. It was his first extra-base knock since April 29 and his third long ball since returning from the paternity list April 25. Though he hasn't been hitting a ton lately, Harper has still been a tough out at the plate, as Sunday was the first game he hadn't been walked since April 26. Over his last 10 games, Harper is slashing .219/.444/.531 with seven RBI, seven runs and a 13:10 BB:K in 45 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 47 minutes ago
  • Roughed up by Phillies
Webb (3-3) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out six over four innings.

Advice: The Phillies scratched out a run versus Webb in the second before plating four more in the third, which was highlighted by Bryce Harper's three-run blast. Webb faced some more traffic in the fourth but ultimately got out of it unscathed with his day ending there after throwing 98 pitches. Following a dominant stretch of four consecutive outings allowing two runs or fewer and pitching at least seven innings, Webb has now given up four runs in back-to-back starts while failing to get more than 12 outs. The one positive note was that his six strikeouts set a season high. The 27-year-old owns a 3.50 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB in 46.1 innings and will look to get back on track in a projected home matchup against the Reds. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago
  • Leaves yard Sunday
Estrada went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Estrada gave the Giants some late life with a two-run blast in the seventh off Taijuan Walker, which ultimately knocked him from the game. The 28-year-old is riding a five-game hit streak and has six RBI over his last four games. In 12 games since April 21, Estrada is slashing .333/.364/.595 with two homers, nine RBI, six runs and a 1:5 BB:K. Rotowire.com Today, 3:40 am
  • Homers as pinch hitter
Reetz went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Reetz roped a solo shot of Jose Alvarado in the ninth to bring the Giants within a run, but their comeback attempt would ultimately fall short. It was his first major league at-bat since 2021 and he should receive some additional looks while the team waits for Patrick Bailey (concussion) & Tom Murphy (knee) to return from their respective injuries. • MRI coming Monday
Ruiz, who was removed from Saturday's win over the Marlins with a wrist injury and was out of the lineup Sunday, is slated to undergo an MRI on Monday, per A's beat reporter Jessica Kleinschmidt.

Advice: Manager Mark Kotsay hadn't ruled out Ruiz making an in-game appearance Sunday, but that situation never arose in an ugly 12-3 loss for the Athletics. Ruiz is now headed for further evaluation Monday, after which the severity of injury he suffered making a diving catch in Saturday's game will become clearer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:09 pm
