    • Earns one-out save
Cano struck out the only batter he faced Sunday to earn the save against the Phillies.

Advice: Cano was called upon to clean up a bases loaded situation with the tying run on deck and two outs in the ninth, earning his third save in the process. Cano earned the opportunity with usual closer Craig Kimbrel being rested after having pitched in each of the first two games of the series. While Cano maintains a prominent role in the Orioles' bullpen, Craig Kimbrel has not allowed an earned run in over a month and maintains a strong hold on the closer role. • Cruises to eighth win
Burnes (8-2) earned the victory Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings against the Phillies. He struck out seven.

Advice: Burnes matched a season high by allowing nine baserunners, but it didn't matter as he limited the damage, allowing only two runs over six innings as the Orioles provided him with eight runs of support. Burnes has still yet to allow more than three earned runs in any start this season, allowing two or fewer runs for the 12th time in 15 games and earning his 10th consecutive quality start. He'll carry a 2.14 ERA and 1.04 WHIP into his next start, currently scheduled to take place when the Orioles travel to Houston to take on the Astros next weekend. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago
    • Goes 3.2 innings in rehab start
Kremer (tricep) struck out three and allowed five runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk over 3.2 innings in his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Kremer spotted 37 of his 59 pitches in the rehab outing, his first since he was placed on the 15-day injured list May 21 with a right tricep strain. The Orioles haven't decided on Kremer's next step, but since teams typically want rehabbing starters to hit the 70-to-75-pitch mark prior to being activated, the right-hander could be in line for one more start with Norfolk or another affiliate during the upcoming week. • Lit up Sunday
Wheeler (8-4) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Advice: It was a long day for Wheeler, who allowed four homers on the day after having previously allowed only six long balls over his first 14 starts this season. The eight earned runs allowed matched a career high for Wheeler, who hadn't given up that many in a start since 2018 and raised his ERA from 2.16 to 2.84 with the effort. Wheeler had won his previous eight decisions prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped him to 8-4 on the season. He'll look to get back on track during his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Diamondbacks come to Philly for a rematch of last season's NLCS. • Starting rehab assignment Wednesday
Kershaw (shoulder) will make a rehab start with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Kershaw came out well from a series of recent sim games and is now set to take the next step toward a return from offseason shoulder surgery. The left-hander has been said to be ahead of progress in his recovery, though he'll almost certainly need several rehab outings before he's ready to make his season debut for the big club. Kershaw remains in line to return around the All-Star break. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

    • Tosses two scoreless frames
Joyce allowed a hit and a walk over two shutout innings as the opener Sunday. He struck out three while the Angels lost to San Francisco.

Advice: Joyce threw 22 of 42 pitches for strikes and also hit a batter during his appearance but managed to keep the Giants off the board. The Angels bullpen would go on to allow 13 runs in six innings in the ugly loss. Joyce lowered his ERA to 7.94 with a 5:4 K:BB through 5.2 frames since being promoted from Double-A Rocket City earlier this month. He's thrown 3.2 scoreless innings over his last two outings. • Earns league-leading 24th save
Helsley allowed two walks during a scoreless ninth to pick up the save Sunday against the Cubs. He struck out one.

Advice: Helsley tossed just 11 of 23 pitches for strikes and started behind in the count to four of five batters faced but still managed to finish off the game for the Cardinals when a drive to the gap by pinch-hitter Patrick Wisdom with two on was snagged by Brendan Donovan to preserve the win. It was another shaky outing for Helsley who has struggled recently with his command, walking four over his last two appearances. Despite the recent trouble, he maintains an ERA of 2.53 and has converted on each of his last 24 save opportunities, last blowing a save on March 30 during his first appearance of the season. • Sidelined with shoulder issue
Triple-A Norfolk placed Heasley on its 7-day injured list Sunday with right shoulder inflammation, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After a brief stint with the Orioles, Heasley returned to Norfolk on May 24 and posted a 6.75 ERA and 2.16 WHIP over three outings at Triple-A before landing on the IL. Heasley will be shut down for at least the next week while he waits for the inflammation in his shoulder to subside. Rotowire.com 51 minutes ago

    • Garners no run support
Taillon (3-3) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings against the Cardinals. He struck out three.

Advice: Taillon scattered baserunners throughout, only completing a single 1-2-3 inning, but was able to limit the damage with the only runs coming on a second-inning two-run homer by Pedro Pages. However, Taillon was given no run support and left the game after six still facing that same two-run deficit. It was the second-consecutive quality start for Taillon who has allowed just two runs in 12 innings over those two starts after having allowed 14 runs over 21.1 innings in his previous four. He'll look to keep things rolling the next time he toe's the rubber, likely to take place next weekend when the Mets roll into the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago
