He struck out nine. It was the fifth consecutive start for Gil with at least six innings and no more than one run allowed.       Blue Jays’ manager John Schneider told reporters after Wednesday’s game that Alek Manoah will undergo an MRI exam on his injured right elbow on Thursday.

      Advice: Manoah suffered the injury during the second inning of his start against the White Sox on Wednesday. The 26-year-old hurler has pitched well in his five starts for the Jays this season, compiling a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 26/8 K/BB ratio across 24 1/3 innings.
