Advice: The left-hander wasn't exactly efficient, tossing only 56 of 89 pitches for strikes, but Crochet lasted long enough to qualify for the win. After a rough stretch in April, the 24-year-old has allowed only three runs over his last three starts (1.59 ERA) with a stellar 24:1 K:BB in 17 innings. Garrett Crochet recorded six strikeouts over five shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Nationals.

Advice: Crochet turned in his fourth consecutive strong performance during Wednesday’s afternoon matinee at Guaranteed Rate Field, limiting Washington’s lineup to just three hits and three walks over five shutout frames. The 24-year-old southpaw’s average fastball velocity remained in the mid-to-upper 90’s as he generated 11 swinging strikes and finished with a pedestrian 27 percent CSW. He wasn’t completely dominant in this one, but it was another encouraging outing after a couple rough starts at the tail-end of April. How he holds up with a traditional starter’s workload will be the central question as the season progresses, but obviously there’s a lot to like about his performance so far. He’ll bring a solid 4.18 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 70/12 K/BB ratio across 51 1/3 innings (10 starts) into a road matchup on Tuesday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:40 pm

Scott (2-4) picked up the win in Tuesday's extra-inning victory over the Tigers, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out two.

Advice: Rather than being held back for a possible save situation in extra innings on the road, Scott got the call in the ninth with the score tied 0-0 and was able to escape the jam he created. The southpaw hasn't allowed an earned run in 10 straight appearances, but Scott's been far from sharp during that time, posting an 11:7 K:BB in 9.1 innings. That's still an improvement on his early-season performance, and his 2.12 ERA on the year isn't supported by his 1.53 WHIP or 18:17 K:BB in 17 frames. Scott is still the Marlins' closer and has converted four of five save chances, but A.J. Shohei Ohtani finished 3-for-5 with a homer and a double against the Giants on Tuesday.

Advice: In what seems to be tracking as the worst year for offense in decades, Ohtani is batting .361/.427/.680 with 12 homers. He’s 69 points of OPS ahead of Marcell Ozuna, who is second in the majors in the category. Ohtani’s homer tonight was a 446-foot blast that left his bat at 113.4 mph, and his 109.4-mph single was the second hardest-hit ball of the contest. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:21 pm

Kirby (4-3) earned the win over Kansas City on Monday, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six batters over seven scoreless innings.

Advice: Kirby was shaky to begin his outing, allowing a single to the second hitter he faced and then loading the bases on consecutive hit-by-pitches. He worked his way out of that threat, though, and yielded just two harmless singles the rest of the way to finish with his fourth scoreless start of the campaign. The right-hander had an 8.16 ERA through three starts this season but has lowered that to 3.58 by giving up two or fewer runs in five of his subsequent six appearances.
