    • Sean Manaea headlines Mets’ second-half rotation
Sean Manaea will start Friday’s series opener against the Mets.

Advice: Manaea, who holds a stellar 2.02 ERA and 36/15 K/BB ratio across 35 2/3 innings over his last six starts since June 14, will kick off the second half with an extremely favorable matchup against the floundering Marlins at pitcher-friendly loanDepot park. It’ll be Jose Quintana, Luis Severino and rookie Christian Scott following him over the next few days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:31 pm

    • Aaron Nola starting Friday against Pirates
Aaron Nola will start Friday’s series opener against the Pirates.

Advice: No surprise here as the Phillies made this decision with their starting rotation earlier this week. It’ll probably be Cristopher Sánchez taking the ball on Saturday with Tyler Phillips probably making another spot start in the series finale. We know for sure that Zack Wheeler and Ranger Suárez, both of whom are dealing with minor back issues, will not take the ball this weekend against the Pirates, but are expected to be ready to go early next week for a road series against the Twins. • Sean Manaea to start Friday against Marlins
The Mets will have Sean Manaea start Friday versus the Marlins, but they’ve yet to announce the rest of the rotation.

Advice: It would be Luis Severino’s turn on Friday, but the Mets are apparently sneaking in some extra rest for him. If everything goes as planned, they’ll soon utilize a six-man rotation following Kodai Senga’s return. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:32 am

    • Strong finish to first half
Schuemann went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs in a win over the Phillies on Sunday. He was also caught stealing on his only attempt.

Advice: The rookie's productive line looks deceptively tame next to those of some of his teammates, considering three Athletics players slugged multiple home runs and Zack Gelof belted a grand slam. However, Schuemann was a very effective table-setting presence out of the bottom of the order, crossing the plate on each of Lawrence Butler's trio of homers. The All-Star break arguably comes at an inopportune time for Schuemann, who heads into the pause in play hitting .357 (10-for-28) over his last eight games while mustering a trio of multi-hit efforts in that span. • On base three times
Albies went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Albies began his day with a double and later led off the fourth with a single before stealing second and coming around to score on a base hit from Matt Olson. Albies has notched a double in three straight games and now has four multi-hit efforts in July. The 27-year-old switch hitter heads into the break slashing .258/.312/.410 with eight homers, 44 RBI, 47 runs, eight steals and a 24:59 BB:K in 381 plate appearances. • Goes yard thrice
Toglia went 3-for-4 with three solo home runs during Sunday's 8-5 win over the Mets.

Advice: Toglia notched his first career multi-homer game Sunday, launching a solo homer in the fifth, sixth and eighth innings. The 25-year-old is batting .197 with 16 home runs across 50 games this season, but he's been significantly better since becoming a near-everyday player for Colorado at the start of June. In 36 games since then, he's batting .230 with 26 RBI, 20 runs and 12 homers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:24 pm

    • Nets 16th save
Yates picked up the save Sunday against the Astros, allowing one run on a hit and a walk with no strikeouts across one inning.

Advice: While Yates advanced to 16-for-16 in save opportunities this season, he snapped his streak of eight consecutive scoreless innings. The 37-year-old walked Jon Singleton and yielded a single to Jeremy Pena to start the ninth frame, with Singleton eventually coming around to score on a groundout by Joey Loperfido. The outing bumped Yates' ERA from 0.81 to 1.05, and he has a 0.90 WHIP across 34.1 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:21 pm

    • Camilo Doval gives up two runs, takes blown save
Camilo Doval gave up two runs while getting just one out in the ninth to take his fourth blown save Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: Doval has been shaky throughout, though he did come into this one having allowed just one run in his previous nine innings. Today, he faced four batters and retired only one of them, allowing one walk and then a pair of doubles. The rough showing leaves him 17-for-21 in save opportunities and with a 4.38 ERA. His closer’s role has to be in some jeopardy, given that the Giants have plenty of solid alternatives. He certainly can’t afford to blow another save chance right away after the break. • Blows save Sunday
Doval allowed two runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one over one-third of an inning, taking a blown save in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Doval's poor performance didn't stop the Giants from winning, but it made things a bit hairy in the ninth inning. The closer had gone five scoreless innings since his last blown save June 28, though he continues to put too many batters on base. For the season, Doval has a 4.38 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 49:24 K:BB over 37 innings while going 17-for-21 in save chances. If manager Bob Melvin changes his approach to the closer job, Doval could lose some of his save share to Ryan Walker or Tyler Rogers. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:47 pm
