• Paul DeJong homers in loss to Brewers
Paul DeJong went 2-for-4 with a homer in a loss Friday to the Brewers.

Advice: DeJong also doubled. The shortstop has homered eight times while driving in 18 runs with a .426 slugging mark. Unfortunately, he hasn’t helped much in any other categories — and the RBI aren’t all that impressive, either, if being blunt — so his fantasy value remains limited. • Late scratch Friday
Donovan, who was set to start in left field and bat in the leadoff spot Friday against the Phillies, was scratched from the Cardinals' lineup due to neck stiffness, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Dylan Carlson will enter the lineup and start in right field, while Alec Burleson shifts to left field and Matt Carpenter moves up to the leadoff spot, per John Denton of MLB.com. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:57 pm

  • Absence continuing Friday
Westburg (hand) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old will miss a second straight game after being hit by a pitch on the right hand Tuesday against the Red Sox. Westburg had X-rays come back negative and should be considered day-to-day. Ramon Urias is starting at the hot corner Friday for Baltimore. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:52 pm

  • Westburg out of lineup for second straight game
Jordan Westburg (hand) is out of the Orioles’ lineup for Friday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Westburg is out of the lineup for the second straight game. He was hit on the right hand by a pitch on Tuesday, missed Wednesday’s game and the Orioles were idle on Thursday. Westburg is yet to be placed on the injured list and X-Rays on his hand came back negative. His next chance to get in the starting lineup will come on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:47 pm

  • Exiting starting nine Thursday
Frazier is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

Advice: Frazier will give way to Nick Loftin at second base after occupying the keystone in four of the previous five contests. Though he'll be on the bench against a right-hander (Chris Paddack), the lefty-hitting Frazier is still expected to see the bulk of the starts at second base while Michael Massey (back) is on the injured list. • Pilfers third bag
Lopez went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Padres.

Advice: The 25-year-old infielder has seized the starting job at second base in the wake of the Luis Arraez trade. Through 30 games in the majors this season, Lopez is slashing a solid .273/.313/.429 with three homers, three steals, 11 runs and 15 RBI, and Statcast has graded him in the 89th percentile for outs above average on the defensive side of the ball. Given his career .288/.354/.401 line over nearly 1,000 plate appearances at Triple-A, this level of production seems very sustainable for Lopez, and he could even get more aggressive on the basepaths -- he's stolen 42 bags in 53 attempts at Triple-A. • Edouard Julien is sitting on Thursday
Edouard Julien, Max Kepler, Trevor Larnach, and Alex Kirilloff are not in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Normally, this would be a signal that the Twins are facing a left-handed starter, but they’re facing Brady Singer. This could have something to do with it being a day game after a night game, but Brady Singer does have reverse splits over his career. Perhaps the Twins think stacking righties against him will give them a better chance to win. However, Julien not being in the lineup is also noteworthy because he has not been performing of late, slashing .186/.278/.200 in 24 games in May with a 36.7 percent strikeout rate. He’s not a player you have to hold in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:58 am

  • Resting in series finale
Julien is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

Advice: With Thursday's contest being a day game after a night game, manager Rocco Baldelli will give rest to several key regulars. Along with Julien, Alex Kirilloff, Max Kepler and Trevor Larnach will rest as the Twins open up room in the lineup for reserves Kyle Farmer, Carlos Santana, Manuel Margot and Christian Vazquez.
