    • Eovaldi, Dunning throwing bullpens Sunday
Nathan Eovaldi (groin) is throwing a bullpen before Sunday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Both Eovaldi and Dane Dunning will throw bullpen sessions of around 15-20 pitches before the game. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that both hurlers will be evaluated after to determine their next steps. Texas has been decimated by injuries to their staff in 2024, and the return of Eovaldi in particular would be a major boon for the defending champions. A timetable for both starters should be made clearer in the coming days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:34 am

    • Remains out Sunday
Hoerner (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Make it six straight absences for Hoerner, who continues to nurse a sore left hamstring. He was still hoping to avoid the injured list as of Friday, but it's reasonable to think Hoerner to the IL could be the move to accommodate the return of Dansby Swanson (knee) on Tuesday. Nick Madrigal has been serving as the Cubs' primary second baseman in Hoerner's absence. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 am

    • Nico Hoerner (hamstring) remains out Sunday
Nico Hoerner (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: Hoerner is going to miss a sixth straight game while recovering from tightness in his left hamstring. The 27-year-old is considered day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list can’t completely be ruled out. Nick Madrigal is the starting second baseman and will hit seventh against the Pirates on Sunday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:36 am

    • Gets break Sunday
Diaz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: The 25-year-old will cede catching duties to Victor Caratini as the Astros finish out their series against the Brewers. Diaz has started four of the last five games for Houston, going 3-for-18 with three RBI in that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 am

    • Slugs another long ball Saturday
Stanton went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk and two total RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win against the White Sox.

Advice: Stanton doubled home a run in the first inning and added a solo homer in the third. The long ball was his second in as many days and his third over his past four games. Stanton is enjoying a big month of May, slashing .308/.333/.654 with five homers and 10 RBI through 13 games, though he's also struck out 35.2 percent of the time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:56 am
    • Dominant in first win
Buehler (1-1) earned the win over the Reds on Saturday, striking out seven over six shutout innings while allowing three hits.

Advice: Buehler looked like his old self for the first time since returning from the injured list, allowing just one single over the first four innings and one extra-base hit on the night while posting a season-high seven strikeouts. The right-hander hadn't gone more than four innings in either of his previous two starts to open the campaign and had also allowed at least one home run in each of those outings. However, Buehler might have found his groove Saturday, as he managed to get through six frames on just 78 pitches while also allowing just three hits, which marked a season low. • Walker Buehler beats Reds for first win since ’22
Walker Buehler recorded seven strikeouts over six shutout innings on Saturday against the Reds for his first win since May 24, 2022.

Advice: Buehler authored his strongest start since returning earlier this month from a lengthy rehabilitation from his second career Tommy John surgery, scattering just three hits over six nearly-flawless frames. The hard-throwing 29-year-old righty generated only eight swinging strikes, but was consistently filling up the zone, resulting in a robust 35 percent CSW. He’s starting to look like an upper-echelon fantasy contributor again, but it’s probably going to take him some time to continue knocking off the rust. He’s in line for a rematch against the Reds on Friday in Cincinnati. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:43 am
    • Pitches around trouble for save
McArthur allowed two hits and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Advice: McArthur allowed back-to-back singles to begin the ninth inning, but he retired the next three batters to secure his 11th save of the year. He's allowed multiple baserunners in four of his last six outings, but he's converted his last four save chances. McArthur is at a 4.35 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 23:3 K:BB through 20.2 innings this season. • McArthur picks up 11th save Saturday
James McArthur allowed two hits, struck out two and picked up his 11th save against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: McArthur allowed back-to-back singles to start the ninth inning before getting Abraham Toro to line out and striking out JJ Bleday. He then struck out Brent Rooker with the game on the line. McArthur’s ERA is 4.35, but he continues to rack up the saves for Royals and fantasy managers. Rotoworld Saturday, 6:56 pm
