Pablo López whiffs 10 in dominant win over M’s
Pablo López allowed just a run while striking out 10 over 6 1/3 innings in a victory over the Mariners on Thursday.
Advice: López held the M’s to four hits, didn’t walk anyone, and threw 61-of-100 pitches for strikes. The only run came on an RBI single by Luke Raley in the second, and the only reason that run was able to score was Mitch Haniger reached on a bloop-double where two Minnesota defenders ran into each other. Outside of that the right-hander continued to impress, and he lowered his ERA to 3.89 — a number that is not indicative of how well he’s pitched this year. López will be a must-start even against the Yankees next week.
