    • Roansy Contreras labors through three innings
Roansy Contreras lasted just three-plus innings on Wednesday against the Athletics and allowed one earned run with two walks and two strikeouts.

Advice: This was Contreras’ first start of the season and he was stretched out to 61 pitches after not topping 50 yet this season. Working as a starter, he leaned far more on his slider than he had in his relief appearances and threw it more often than his fastball. Contreras used that slider as his primary pitch often last season in Pittsburgh as his fastball effectiveness waned. That fastball still isn’t great and he had trouble putting hitters away, as he seemingly always has. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:48 pm
    • Twins prospect David Festa to debut Thursday
David Festa will get the call to the major leagues and start Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: That was the speculation Tuesday, and the move has been confirmed. Festa had a 3.77 ERA and an 87/24 K/BB ratio in 59 2/3 innings for Triple-A Salt Lake. There’s legitimate concern about how his control will hold up in the majors, but he’s worth a flier anyway. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:00 am

    • Spins six scoreless
Wilson (5-3) picked up the win Tuesday against the Rangers, allowing three hits with no walks across six scoreless innings. He struck out four.

Advice: For the fourth time in his last six appearances, Wilson worked in bulk relief, taking the mound in the third inning after Hoby Milner opened the contest. Still, Wilson was able to complete six innings for the first time since May 6 as part of his best outing as a Brewer. The 26-year-old has been incredibly volatile across his last four appearances, yielding at least five runs twice but giving up no runs in the other pair of games. Overall, Wilson owns a 3.89 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP over 74.0 innings. While it's unclear if he'll follow an opener again, he's on track to pitch in Colorado early next week. • Roansy Contreras to start Wednesday against A’s
Roansy Contreras will start on Wednesday against the Athletics.

Advice: It’s a favorable matchup for streaming purposes, but Contreras is too risky to roll the dice on, with the notable exception of extremely deep mixed leagues or AL-only formats. The 24-year-old former prospect was acquired last month from the Pirates in a small trade and has fared reasonably well in nine relief appearances for Los Angeles. Angels manager Ron Washington told reporters they’re hoping to get at least four or five innings out of Contreras on Wednesday afternoon. Rotoworld Tuesday, 4:10 pm
    • Set to start Wednesday
Contreras will start Wednesday's game against the Athletics, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old was acquired from the Pirates in May and has worked out of the bullpen for his first nine appearances for the Halos. Contreras has pitched to a 3.29 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over 13.2 innings with Anaheim, and manager Ron Washington said the club is hoping the right-hander can cover about four or five innings versus Oakland, per Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. • Following opener Tuesday
Wilson will pitch behind opener Hoby Milner against the Rangers on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Wilson was scheduled to start Tuesday's contest but will instead follow a lefty opener. The right-hander has failed to last five frames in five of his past eight outings, so the strategy could improve his chances of qualifying for a victory. However, Wilson has a 5.68 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 28:16 K:BB during that eight-start stretch. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:41 pm
    • David Festa could make MLB debut Thursday
Dan Hayes of The Athletic believes that David Festa could make his MLB debut Thursday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Festa would be taking the rotation spot of Chris Paddack, with Paddack being placed on the injured list with arm fatigue. Festa is one of the top prospects in the system, and the 24-year-old has struck out 87 batters in 59 2/3 innings with a 3.77 ERA for Triple-A St. Paul this year. Festa has battled control issues, but the stuff is here for him to be a successful fantasy option. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:08 pm
