Cal Quantrill pitches well again in win over SF
Cal Quantrill held the Giants to just one run Thursday over six innings while picking up a win for the Rockies.
Advice: Quantrill scattered five hits with three walks, and he struck out five. As seen from the numbers above there was some traffic, but Quantrill was able to make enough key pitches to limit the damage while picking up another victory. That makes back-to-back effective starts for the 29-year-old, as he has given up just one run over his last 13 2/3 innings to lower his ERA to 3.94. The Rockies are going nowhere, but Quantrill will be an intriguing trade target if he keeps this up. His next chance comes Tuesday against the Padres.
