• Next outing will be at Triple-A
Pirates manager Derek Shelton said Monday that Skenes is scheduled to make another start with Triple-A Indianapolis this week, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Skenes' last start with Indianapolis was his first this season on regular rest, and he wasn't as dominant as he had been in yielding two runs on three hits and a 4:2 K:BB over 4.1 innings. He threw 66 pitches in the outing. The top prospect's major-league debut should be coming sooner rather than later, but the Pirates have opted to give him at least one more start in the minors. Skenes boasts a 0.99 ERA and 45:8 K:BB across 27.1 frames in 2024. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

  • White Sox recall Mike Clevinger for start Monday
White Sox recalled RHP Mike Clevinger from Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Clevinger will make the start for the White Sox on Monday against the Rays. The right-hander was only able to work 7 1/3 innings in his first two starts, and he may not be able to get deep enough to qualify for a a victory during his first time on the mound. Dominic Leone was placed on the 15-day injured list in the corresponding transaction. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
  • A’s likely to call up Osvaldo Bido on Weds
According to MLB.com’s Martín Gallegos, the Athletics will call up Osvaldo Bido to start one of the games in Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Bido has posted a 2.59 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in six games (five starts) for Las Vegas, striking out 39 and walking 13 in 31 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old former Pirate is not a recommended start against the Rangers but perhaps he can replace Joe Boyle in the rotation if he pitches well enough. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

  • Kris Bubic will begin rehab assignment
Kris Bubic (Tommy John surgery) will begin a rehab assignment tomorrow.

Advice: Bubic has been on the shelf since undergoing Tommy John surgery last April. He’ll start his rehab assignment with a few games in the Arizona Complex League before moving to another affiliate; however, the exact progression has not been figured out yet. The 26-year-old has a 4.85 career ERA in 325 MLB innings but did look better in 16 brief innings in 2023 before getting hurt. Still, fantasy managers should wait and see how he looks in more than a few starts before giving him a shot on their rosters. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Recalled ahead of season debut
The White Sox recalled Clevinger from Triple-A Charlotte ahead of his start Monday against the Rays in Tampa.

Advice: Clevinger will make his season debut for the White Sox after getting built back up in the minors upon re-signing with Chicago on a one-year deal April 2. The right-hander allowed three runs on 10 hits and a 7:3 K:BB in 7.1 innings during his two starts with Charlotte. Clevinger threw 71 pitches in his most recent outing, so he likely won't be asked to handle a full workload Monday. He collected a 3.77 ERA and 110:40 K:BB across 131.1 frames covering 24 starts for the White Sox in 2023. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago
  • Skenes will make yet another minor-league start
Paul Skenes is scheduled to pitch for Triple-A Indianapolis this week.

Advice: Fans and fantasy managers will have to wait yet another week, at least, before seeing Skenes make his MLB debut. The 21-year-old has made seven starts at Triple-A in 2024, posting a 0.99 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 45/8 K/BB ratio in 27 1/3 innings. The Pirates will, we assume, continue to lengthen him out in his starts until they feel comfortable enough that he can throw five or more innings in each start. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

  • Likely to be activated this week
Bradley (pectoral) has joined the Rays in Tampa Bay and is likely to be activated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut later this week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Bradley has been out all season with a right pectoral strain, but he looked good in two rehab starts, most recently yielding just one earned run across six innings while striking out eight with Triple-A Durham this past Friday. The exact date for Bradley's season debut hasn't yet been revealed, but he'll presumably take the hill sometime this weekend against the Yankees. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Bryan Woo could be activated this weekend
The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude suggests that Bryan Woo (elbow) could be activated form the IL this weekend to face the Athletics.

Advice: Woo was impressive in his last start at Triple-A, throwing 66 pitches while averaging 95.7 mph on his fastball. He now has a 17-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 11 1/3 scoreless innings across his three rehab appearances with Tacoma, while allowing just five hits. However, Jude notes that “the team wants to see how Woo feels over the next couple of days before finalizing plans to activate him.” With Emerson Hancock set to make his start against the Twins on Tuesday, his turn in the rotation would come up again this weekend against Oakland, and Woo could be activated to take his place. He certainly looks ready and Jude confirms that, “The club does not plan to go with a six-man rotation and would prefer to keep Hancock stretched out in Triple-A, as opposed to keep him in the majors to pitch out of the bullpen.” Rotoworld Today, 12:04 pm

  • Mets waive starting pitcher Max Kranick
Mets designated RHP Max Kranick for assignment.

Advice: The 26-year-old Kranick had not yet appeared in a game for the Mets this season, appearing in six games across three minor league levels while making his way back from a hamstring injury. He had allowed seven runs on 18 hits in 14 2/3 innings across those three levels. He was designated for assignment to make room for Yohan Ramirez, who the Mets claimed off waivers from the Orioles.
