      Jeimer Candelario (neck) is back in the lineup on Monday against the Cardinals.

      Advice: Candelario missed two games with a neck injury but is back in the lineup at third base and hitting third in the order. The 30-year-old has been turning the corner a bit in May, slashing .257/.313/.432 in 20 games in May with two home runs, 10 RBI, and just a 16.3 percent strikeout rate.     • Reds activate Nick Lodolo from IL
      Reds activated LHP Nick Lodolo from the 15-day injured list.

      Advice: Lodolo was off to a tremendous start to the season, with his 3.34 ERA and 43/9 K/BB ratio in six starts after returning from his leg injury from last year. The 26-year-old has yet to have arm problems in his MLB career but has been banged up continuously. The Reds will hope he can remain healthy for the rest of the season, but he is a risky start today after not making a rehab appearance prior to being activated.       Candelario (neck) is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

      Advice: He was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to neck stiffness and held out Sunday as well, but evidently Candelario is feeling better. The 30-year-old will return to third base and bat third against right-hander Lance Lynn.     • Activated ahead of start
      Lodolo (groin) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday ahead of his scheduled start against the Cardinals.

      Advice: An extended bullpen session last Wednesday put Lodolo in the clear to return after the minimum, and without a rehab assignment. The left-hander has pitched brilliantly in between IL stints this season, posting a 3.34 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB over 35 innings. While he may not be available for 90-plus pitches right away in his return, there has been nothing to suggest Lodolo will face any major restrictions against St. Louis.     • Picks up another shaky save
      Helsley allowed a run on three hits in one inning but earned the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Cubs. He struck out a batter in the outing.

      Advice: Helsley ran into trouble against the Cubs for the second consecutive night and was still able to escape with a save. He allowed a leadoff home run to Ian Happ and then gave up back-to-back two-out singles before getting Seiya Suzuki to end things with a fly out. That's now seven hits and three runs given up by Helsley over his last two appearances, though both still turned into saves. He's tied with Emmanuel Clase atop baseball with 17 saves and still owns excellent overall numbers with a 2.25 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:4 K:BB in 24 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:43 am
       
    • Ryan Helsley serves up homer, still records save
      Ryan Helsley served up a solo homer to Ian Happ in the ninth inning on Sunday night, but still managed to escape with the lead intact and earn his 17th save of the season.

      Advice: After giving up a leadoff blast to Happ that trimmed the Cardinals’ lead to one run, he then retired Dansby Swanson on a line drive to third base and struck out Michael Busch. He then allowed a pair of two-out singles to Nick Madrigal and Mike Tauchman before getting Seiya Suzuki on a line drive to center to end it. The Cardinals’ stopper has now converted 17 of his first 18 save chances on the season while producing a stellar 2.25 ERA. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:20 pm

      Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Muncy is still feeling his oblique strain and will proceed cautiously, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

      Advice: Roberts had previously indicated that Muncy could start a rehab assignment soon with a potential return to the Dodgers coming next week, though he backed off on that statement Friday. The third baseman began doing some work in the field Tuesday, but Roberts indicated that Muncy won't progress to hitting off a tee until the team feels he's fully recovered.       Woo did not factor into the decision Sunday against Washington, allowing three earned runs on five hits and zero walks over six innings. He struck out one.

      Advice: Woo finally showed some signs of weakness Sunday, surrendering his first home run of the season and allowing a season-high three earned runs. Even so, the 24-year-old needed just 70 pitches to notch his second consecutive quality start. Despite not topping 80 pitches in any outing this season, Woo sits at 2-0 with a sparkling 1.66 ERA and 0.60 WHIP in 21.2 innings this season.       Bryan Woo pitched six innings and allowed three runs Sunday versus the Nationals.

      Advice: Woo got just three missed swings and one strikeout today, but he proved moderately effective in allowing only five hard-hit balls and five hits.
